In the first fight marquez outlanded manny 158-148 and 122-100 in power shots. So how come he didn't win that fight? Oh that's right, three of manny's shots were harder, cleaner punches that sent Marquez to the canvass. So compubox isn't the be all and end all, then is it? In fact Marquez outlanded Manny in the rematch at an even greater clip: 172-157 and 130-114 in power shots. This time, marquez lands the cleaner more aggressive blows and the manny nuthuggers want to point to compubox. LOL
You are definitely looking for something that was not there ... Manny won the fight though not by a wide margin ... I highly doubt he assumed he had lost and was surprised by the judgement
Too much expectation from Manny. people were expecting another dominating performance against the best defensive fighter in boxing. No knockdowns. Marquez has more clean hits. I don't blame you for thnking that Marquez got robbed. But then compubox says, Manny threw more punches and landed more which backs up the judges points. Great fight but not a great win.
Yeah guess what? 3 Knock downs are scored as two points each thus meaning you drastically change the score card? You new to boxing? It isn't but when they're aren't any knock downs it's taken into account. Speaking about the rematch didn't Manny knockdown Marquez in that fight too thus taking two more points that dicided the fight? Did you see Manny hit the ground? Get stunned? They may look prettier but just like basketball a dunk and a layup are still 2 points. Too bad so sad.
Pacquiao promised a tko. He was disappointed he was not able to deliver that promise. But that doesn mean he got outscored. He knew it was close. He didn't stop fighting until the end while Marquez was dreaming of Tequila already.
LOL I knew someone would comment on that....it was a joke, hope I didn't offend you. BTW it's Mexicans not Mexans.
not to single you out, but do people understand that this is not the amateurs and landed punches is not the end all be all stat in pro boxing?
I don't even know why I am arguing with you, it's clear that logic doesn't account for anything when arguing with you. Yes, Manny was stunned several times. Even Freddie Roach knew that Manny was losing. Everybody knew that he was losing. Only reason he won was because they want one more shot at Mayweather/ Pac.
Those of you that think Marquez clearly won the fight are crazy ... At best, it was a draw for him and in reality Manny was a little better an the judges scorecard came out just right. Neither fighter "took" that fight and neither has any right to complain about the judges regardless of how it came out. And you all KNOW that a challenger isnt likely to take the belt on a decision without clearly winning the fight.
I honestly think this was the first boxing match he's ever seen. Either that or he doesn't understand how judges score on their cards. Either way I want Floyd and Manny for all the marbles.
Actually I bought the top rank online coverage and everyone of them: Colonel Bob Sheridan, and his partner (can't remember his name) and mario lopez all scored it for marquez. I can also probably pull up 10 articles from google that call into question Pacman's win, and saying that Marquez got robbed if you like.
10 articles? I give you a 50..
