ESPN just said the Mavs were tied for second for most wins to start a season next to the 12-0 Bulls.

I don't have ESPN, but if you keep watching it, tell me whether or not they publicly rescind that remark when they change it to what's right.

Actually, it would be tied for fourth. Houston shares the record(15-0) with some other team from a long time ago. Bulls would be third if 12-0 is correct.

The stat isn't even correct. The Mavs are now tied for THIRD.

    15 Washington Capitols, 1948
    15 Houston Rockets, 1993
    14 Boston Celtics, 1957
    12 Dallas Mavericks, 2002
    12 Chicago Bulls, 1996
    12 Seattle Supersonics, 1982

That's strange because their web site states this:

Following their 98-72 dismantling of the Shaq-less Lakers on Tuesday, the Mavs have cracked the top-10 list for best starts in NBA history. By adding hard-nosed defense to their freewheeling offense, Dallas has rolled to an 11-0 record, four short of the league record. Steve Nash led four Mavs in double-figures with 21 points as Dallas sent the struggling Lakers to their worst loss this season.

What do we have to do to get some props? Maybe this is a start of a 15 game winning streak for us,then we'll get some recognition.

With 11 wins (not 12), the Mavs are now alone in FOURTH!

If edc's stats are correct and the Mavs are 11-0, they are now in 6th place on that list. 1 and 2 are tied for 1st; 3 is in 3rd; 4 and 5 are tied for 4th, and 6 is 6th.

I think for us to get recognition we should beat the Mavs and end all the talks about record breaking and record tying (spell check). I hope we play good basketball against them and come out with the victory. BTW I can't wait to see half time of that game lol. GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They showed a list of the past 15 years of NBA best starts. They didn't include the Rockets 15-0 record.

I just don't get it, Dream got more pub from them during his time at Toronto than he did during the championship years.

15-0 would easily qualify as the BEST start in NBA history. And it wasn't like they were beating scrubs, one of the teams they pounded was the eventual Eastern Conference Champions and their opponents in the NBA Finals the New York Knicks.

THIS JUST IN, ESPN says that after Colliers break out game that he could become top 50 one day:D

    Unrelated,

Should we really have a problem with NBA players sleeping around and having illegitimate offspring??? Ala, Kemp,Horry,Jordan. I don't condone it but at least there are planting talented seeds.:D

    a. isn't dallas 11-0?

    b. didn't atlanta start a season 12-0 also?

    c. anyone sure they didn't say second best start since the bulls were 12-0, not that the bulls 12-0 was the best.
