Just got my game from gamestop.

Wasn't expecting over 200 people lined up outside the store.

Just made it through the "intro" quest. I think I'll stop there for now. I think I'm going High Elf Mage and going to level Destruction... for now, anyway.

Did you guys buy it in the store because you wanted the map or because you wanted a hard copy? Otherwise, why not just get it on Steam.

I bought the Collectors Edition. Yup, love me some Elder Scrolls. Got to level 2 early this morning before I went to sleep. Loving it so far. My only question is whether I have to unequip my sword everytime I want to cast something? Don't remember doing this in Oblivion, but I may be wrong. I'll keep fiddling with it.

PC for sure. That's my answer for any RPG but especially Elder Scrolls.
There's usually tons of mods later on and the graphics are better.

You can dual-wield with a cast in one hand and a sword in the other.

Unless you're using a two-handed sword, then yeah you have to unequip your sword to cast something.

Yeah that's what I've been doing. Usually a shield in one hand and shock or whatever in my main hand though. I was referring to casting while a sword is in my hand. I'm guessing I can't do that though. Can't remember if it was like this in Oblivion. Either way, I'll make it work. It's already my Game of the Year!

There's already mods for the game (better faces, "cleaning" up models, etc.). Nice.

    Does seem poorly optimized though.

I'm pretty sure you had to do that in Oblivion as well. I could be wrong, though.

Do you already own an XBOX and what is your PC specs at the moment? If you already own an XBOX I wouldn't worry to much about game modding only if you love using mods for your games.

One in NY. Several other Gamestops had massive lines.

I don't think so, but during a playthrough that wasn't at 2 a.m., I discovered the up button on the directional pad. Makes all the difference in the world. Game's officially starting to click on all cylinders.

I wish I had a good enough computer to have bought this for PC... I'm not enjoying the consol version that much. The game has froze for me once already and it doesn't feel right playing this game with a controller and not a mouse and keyboard. I'd definitely recommend PC over console if you have a choice.
