There's been a few allegations that Hunter has been one of the worst factors in a deal getting done this time around.

Opinions are like a****les in that everybody has one. Since he doesn't have any skin in the game, he's just afan with an inordinately large megaphone.

Well he works for NBATV doesn't he? And with no games he isn't working. So effectively he has "skin" in the game.

I agree with Barry. As much as I miss the NBA, I hate the current system, and any improvement in the area of competetive balance is needed.

I don't care who gets more money. but the players simply don't have the power to win this fight. Let them decertify the union, take the NBA to court and we'll watch the players lose. It's going to be pointless in the end.

The truth is the truth. And Barry's pretty spot-on.

The owners hold the cards. Actually, the lose-money, no-chance-of-championship teams and Stern hold the cards. You can bet the owners of the Lakers, Heat, Mavs, Knicks are ready to play. But this comes down to handing a big enough rock and slingshot to David so that he has a chance against Goliath.

The players are gonna lose. It's just a matter of how much. If they try for decertification, we'll lose at least this season, and maybe part of the next.

I don't like watching the owners with their boots on the players' necks, but I also don't like watching the players on the ground, faces turning blue, staring up at the owners, gasping past the boot at their adam's apples, "So, ya had enough?"

Yea, even the NHL player who was one of the most enthusiastic supporters for the NHL lockout came out and said in the end of the day it simply wasn't worth it. You end up loisng and oyu just end up losing more games and money and in hindsight he would've just ended it earlier even though he was very outspoken about it at the time
