I've seen every game since 2008. And you missed the point. Sure, time of possession means nothing, but if you hold onto the ball and make long drives, you limit the total possessions/drives UH is able to make, therefore keeping UH from driving up the score and scoring 60+ like they would otherwise.

UH scored 63 points with 16 minutes against Rice and 73 points in 21 minutes against UAB. The only thing that will stop them is a good defense, regardless of time of possession.

the one thing you can do to at least slow down houston is to make them dink and dunk and not give up the YAC.

I find this hilarious for some reason:

    RECEIVING REC YDS AVG TD
    P. Edwards 56 1148 20.5 11
    T. Carrier 65 743 11.4 5

Just about every catch Edwards has is a bomb.

Is 25.3 yard per carry good for a running back?

sounds reasonable for a team with a losers' mentality....

Keith Van Horn said it best..... Losing is the same as winning , just with fewer points

I'm drawing a distinction between time of possession and number of possessions here. UH scored 73 on Rice because they got the ball on offense enough times to do so. Same with the game against UAB. Keenum would not have been able to throw for 9 TDs if UH's offense didn't have at least 9 possessions.

UH didn't score in the first quarter at all this game because Tulane only allowed them one offensive possession, which they weren't able to score on.

This argument is pointless anyway. Just sit back and enjoy the game.

If you're looking at the score, you'd think there was a basketball game being played haha.

I really would like to see these guys against a top 10 program. I sort of think it would be waaaaaay more like Boise Vs Oklahoma than Hawaii vs Georgia. Sure this defense wouldn't be beating many people outside C-USA with a merely very good offense. But this looks like a truly great offense to me.

This Cougar team is reminding me of the classic run and shoot years.

Congrats to the Coogs for pulling this one out.

Tulane kept it close for a while there, but Keenum and Co. showed some real heart and eeked out a close victory at the very end. One of the most heart-pounding final drives I've watched in a while.
