Wow I'd be up for getting battier. But honestly I don't think we really have anything they'd really want. Heck I'll trade kt, rice, mooch, and t-mo to get him... If they throw dickerson and he'd be willing to go off the bench that would make a real deadly backcourt with dickerson backing up cat... Battier should make up the d that we lost in hawkins if we have to trade him in... but dickerson might be a little expensive... hmm

Well at least its fun to think about, I would trade KT right now for a LA Clipper Towel Boy, I cant stand that KT, he sucks!, but enough about that,

This is so much fun to think about, I would do this trade without doubt!

I heard on the radio today that Jerry West is really down on Battier and doesn't consider him starting material in the NBA. I don't know about you guys, but if West doesn't like him I want no part of him.

Kenny Thomas and Morris for Battier sounds perfect for us, I think.

I don't know about them, though.

What also concerns me is that West is such a good evaluator of talent and apparently he doesn't see that much in Battier.

of course, since you are Jerry West and all:rolleyes:....

Battier would be a great player to add to this team, as someone called him "Mr. Tangibles." i totally agree (of course Duke is my team), but thats beyond the point....:)

    and another thing.....

FART needs to be disbanded. every freakin member thinks they're the high lords of this BBS. FART is by far the stupidest monikered "club" i have ever seen in my 5+ years of frequenting this board.

    enough is enough.

Why don't we just go after Elton Brand?
    Griffin + Mooch + Collier --> Brand + Dooling

    That's FARTastic!

    swt939,

    get over it.

Some people want the team to stay intact for one year, finally. Francis has never played with a consistent lineup in awhile. It is enough just to get Yao involved, and a new defense and offense.

    Fans Against Rockets Trade Scenarios

Why is that stupid? It is actually a valid take on trades this year. Do you hate it because it has the most members...is that why? Oh, high and mighty one who's been frequenting this BBS for 5 years now.

    get over it.

No way! I wouldn't trade Boki for Battier straight up.

I have seen Nachbar drive past NBA small forwards (although he didn't finish), and cut off NBA guards. He is a tremendous physical talent, who has no idea how to play NBA basketball yet.

Give Nachbar a chance, he needs time to develop.

Fearless prediction- Nachbar will be as good as Dunleavy.

The same Jerry West that traded Eddie Jones and Elden Campbell for Glen Rice, everyone's favorite player to bash?

West is a good evaluator of talent, but no one is perfect. Battier will find a way to succeed in the NBA... I know he will. Too many intangibles. He's a winner.

This is the problem with this forum. It is supposed to be a place where we can speak about the Rockets. But anytime somebody suggests that a particular player may not be the best fit or they have some other criticism or they think of a trade that may help the team get even better they get flamed and have things like FART thrown at them.

We all love the Rox. We all want championships. If somebody thinks of a trade that could help the team they're going to want to talk about it...because that is part of the fun of being a fan. If you don't like it...just ignore it. Then again you could always just...

    get over it.

Yeah, he's perfect. Remind me about his deal for Glen Rice. Or Perkins -- the one he traded for Benoit Benjamin and Doug Christie, long before he was Doug Christie.

West inherited really bad stuff with that team -- and he will get it sorted. Starting with a '5' and perhaps somehow dumping that silly point guard (somehow).

heypartner, you are the one that needs to "get over it".

swt939 hit the nail on the head.

Jerry West is a GM genius. He won't trade a valuable commodity like Battier just because. They are 0-10, solid lead for the LeBron James lotto pick and also have the Rockets' first round pick. His future core will have Gooden, Lebron James, Battier, Gasol. Find a solid Center, and a serviceable PG (Jason Williams maybe, maybe not). And he will have rebuilt a new version of the Lakers in Memphis. That's most likely where Jerry West is headed.

did i say he was perfect? i don't think so. no one is.

but his hits have lead to several championships, more than any other team in the league.

If West dislikes Battier, I'll take his word for it over anyone else's. who else has proven to be a better evaluator over a lengthy period of time? i didn't say perfect, i said better.

    SJC,

I provided a take. But did you see me start something to get people to shut up. No! it was in response to swt939 telling people to shut up and disband. And this is the 2nd time today he's done it.

    Refman,

swt939 has made that very same comment twice in one day without actually providing a take. why are you butting in, and saying Soap Operic MacBeth comments like "this is what is wrong with this forum."

    *sigh*

Battier is not better than Kenny. Battier will never reach those 39 mpg numbers again. The trade does not pass the CBA Rules of Salary matching with Kenny alone or Moochie involved. That is my take. My take is this Fan is Against that Rockets Trade Scenario....FARTS

Do you have a take, or do you have a trade scenario for me to FART on.

    If not....

    get over it.

Like FARTS is some kind of organization that needs to be "disbanded" like swt939 actually suggested.

    Disband the FARTS! LOL!

If you don't understand that a large amount of fans actually do not want any trades and will post reasons for it....fine. But geeze man, have a take about the thread or this trade or get over it. Mine is that Francis needs to play with a steady crew for once, and this trade is illegal anyhow.

Is it coincendental that Rice helped LA win their first title? Moreover, Rice was last useful when he was in LA.

Not a bad at all. Battier seems like a player that just does the little things to make a good team a great one. He would be a perfect fit. Once eddie developes into a PF. The Rockets starting 5 would be hands down the best in the league. Maybe CD can make this happen b/c its not ridicoulous like 99% of the trades proposed on this board
