So you believe that the NBA is clueless right now, and having a petition with several thousand signatures will make them realize that fans are upset and they just have to get a deal done?
No, They've mentioned fans getting hurt adn that is obvious the fact is , this puts tangible things in paper. Right now they just know were pissed, but they dont see us having any power or real say in what they do with our money. Even if we dont skip games, just the fact that people are ticked enough to put in on paper, make it 'official' give them a tangible thing that the fans are thinking of doing puts added pressure, it legitimizes the anger into something, it says 'sorry' is not enough and really makes them realize that we do have some power and say in this
I'm sorry to say that people fighting over hundreds of millions of dollars are not going to influenced by the fact that fans, who they know are angry, are willing to put it to paper that they are angry.
I am not going to say it is going to make them change their minds, but when you make it efficial and put an a petition, it atleast puts pressure on their mind, if the media picks it up, then it really ways down on them, when their sponsors don't like the negative image interaction then it adds more pressure Look you can say no no to all of this, but it takes 2 seconds to fill out your name and talk about it and pass around ,it at the very least is worth the experiment, afterall we are all here and free with no NBA season as they decide how to split our money
This is idiotic. No one is going to boycott the NBA. How about we all agree to NEVER, EVER vote for public money for stadiums again, under any circumstances? The lockout is bad enough, the fact that the government is heavily subsidizing it is worse.
The money is not yours, but your boss'. The customers give money to your boss. The customer's boss .... You work, then your boss gives you.... The players work then given money and so on.... Ultimate the money is from Fed Reserve
Boycott? I would actually like to thank them for giving me less things to spend (waste) my time on. NFL/Fantasy football already takes up too much of it. Thank you NBA and players for giving your fans a break.
Ok, that is fair, point is it odes not have to be a boycott, I wish I could retitle it, but more so a petition to somehow unite and formally propose some sort of unity to do something against them be it vote for public money, not buy merchandise, or soemthing, but when you have it on paper with loads of people and it gets media expsoure and the sponsors associated with the NBA get affected, you at the very least make some noise
This whole thing is really stupid, but I found some gold in the link It also has the little "Why People Are Signing" thing for those who have signed.
Nothing catches the attention of people like a good ol' internet petition. It'll probably work as good as that time that we all sent emails to Gortat convincing him to come to Houston. Maybe I can get my wife, who is a first grade teacher, to get her students to color pictures of themselves not watching the NBA. That should really make them reconsider their position!
If I can seriously make up names for this thing, haven't gone to the link yet, I will sign your petition at least 10 times.
I'm not signing that. I'm going to send the NBA an iPad in hopes they agree on terms soon. Watch and learn.
Can we get a boycott on the NBA players games that arent NBA official.... Look i know most of the games are for charity but If you want to donate to charity then nothing is stopping you ... just go ahead and do it . This proposal really only hurts the owners and I'm on thier side. I wanna let the players know how i feel.... I dont wanna see your lazy no- defense games ok ?? Especially when the majority of the players participating are the NBA stars ... You guys need to talk to Fish and Hunter and be like hey... they offered us a 50 50 split ummm why arent we taking it ..... and not like well " we will not accept below 52 percent of revenue and anything that hurts the position of big markets to pay for superteams " I guarantee you alot of players would take a 50/50 split so .. stars you need to stop tweeting " The NBA wont let us play " and get off your but and try to make a deal with the people that own the teams that sign your paychecks ... rant over
Yes, that sounds like a good outcome to me. Let the NBA eat itself. I can't wait for NCAA basketball.
