This will definitely be my next phone. Just too freaking gorgeous. Maybe not the single core version but hopefully a dual core in a couple of months. Kinda disappointed it won't be coming out until next year but also it keeps me from eagerly and stupidly jumping on a old hardware version I know I might be disappointed. I might wait for a dual core version. I know the single core work flawlessly with Mango 7.5 but I'm sure they are already working on a version that's going to take advantage of the dual core. cdma and LTE versions for the US are coming in early 2012. i am guessing they will add some other features to make sure it can compete against the top android phones and iphone 4s.
Yeah I hear that stupid whining from people a lot and honestly most people don't or hardly ever uses it. A front facing camera means a Data plan and or an internet access is needed. If the N9 never had a front facing camera than they wouldn't have any comparison to complain about in the firs place. How many version of iPhone before there is a front facing camera? At the moment they just bought Skype and it's not even ready to use. It's all stragetic part of marketing of getting people to upgrade to the next phone when they come out with either a front facing camera and or a dual core or higher resolution display and ect.
i havent used the front facing camera on my iphone 4 at all other than to test it. i actually prefer to use my logitech webcam on the computer. the front facing cameras making u look r****ded (big nose, small ears) because you are holding a wide angle lens too close.
I don't think the hardware is the big issue here because Mango is very good running on one core their minimum specs. Their biggest hurdle is getting people to buy into Windows Phone 7 social network UI setting. I think they are a little too late to the game and people gotten too use to the static UI of Android and iOS. They needed this nice looking phone to get people attention and we'll see from here. Microsoft is doing a terrible job so far of getting their Windows Phone 7 out to the public.
Skype is the best reason to have a front facing camera. I love being able to video chat when I am away for extended periods.
i like wp7. it's clean and gets the job done. Android has too much **** going on and this fits nokia nicely
What is this crap? This pales in comparison to the legendary and consecrated iPhone. In all seriousness... It really just look like crap. Windows Mobile OS. Ewww.
lack of stateside release is unacceptable. so is the lack of a front camera. but stilll, it's damn pret-ty. who knows when early next year is? may be doing the dark side thing again by picking up the nexus when released (if those amazon prices are placeholders anyway).
Looks like a bigger, slimmer, curved, more rectangular, screen slightly raised, not as plasticky (tho I'd need to see that in person to judge, doesn't look plasticky in pictures/video tho it is plastic) Acer Liquid kinda. To be fair, if the Liquid did have those characteristics, then it would be a sexy phone. Here is a pic of a red Acer Liquid: Spoiler Personally, I think the Sensation or Inspire are both better looking phones but I just really like HTC designs in general. And I prefer metal to plastic.
I've always been a Nokia fan but they've disappointed since the E71. Will probably get this if it comes to Canada in time, the white one looks great.
Nokia N9 will have the white version. Not sure if the Lumia 800 is getting the white one. I don't think the white one look that nice on this type of phone because I think you are seeing very less white in the front. But it still a gorgeous phone no matter what color. I would love to get the N9 version but it's going for $800 to $1000 on ebay.
