His first children's film. I do't know what to think.

Will we get a montage with the Rolling Stones playing in the background. I bloody finale?

I'm definitely not opposed to children's movies. As a matter of fact, I usually love them. That one, like you, I don't know what to make of it. Doesn't appeal to me as of right now. As fantastical as the storyline seems, it seems kind of cookie cutter.

Seems like he's just ripping off every known movies out there with this one.

I'm going to see it just because I enjoyed the book.

It's a very strange looking children's movie, like some of you have mentioned it, it just seems kind of blah and unoriginal.

Like Spike Jonze's Where The Wild Things Are, I think this is not a "childrens" movie but more a film about childhood.

They screened it at the NYFF 11 and the word was that it seemed like Scorsese's most personal film and a love letter to classic cinema. If you know anything about Scorsese than you know he was a very weird kid that saw a ton of movies as a child because he was severely asthmatic.

The thing is that heart and soul is not in Scorsese tool box. But i'm curious enough to see it.

That makes a lot more sense.
