Killers - 2/10 - watched this on Netflix last night. I knew it would be bad (it stars Ashton Kutcher afterall), but I didn't think it would be THIS bad. Katherin Heigel tries really had to be funny, but she's just not. Don't waste your time, the action is as lame as the humor.

The funny thing is my wife and her sister really liked watching this movie. I had watched it previously and knew it to be bad but when asked to pick a movie for us all to watch I picked this and knew they would like it. I know better to pick a movie I like and be heckled for it the whole night.

Little Fockers 3/10. Not much to say here, it pretty much sucked the entire way through.

    Rescue Dawn 7/10

Based on a True story and Christian Bale delivers a great performance in my opinion. I think it was quietly overlooked a few years ago but I randomly came across it. War movie. Survival.

Agreed, good movie. Christian Bale even as crazy as he is, is a very talented actor.

I liked that too. Especially being a big X-Men fan growing up.

I watched '1408' last night and I don't know if I really did watch it. If the room had a reputation for being haunted, how did others survive without destroying it? Maybe I should read the short story.

    On Time 5/10

Better than I thought it would be, but still lacking so much more for such a great concept. Had good actors but didn't highlight their acting skills.

    The Battle of Algiers (1966)

    9/10

This was an exceptional war film about the Algerian independence struggle from France in the late 50s to early 60s. It was shot to look like a newsreel in B/W, and this technique wonderfully depicts urban guerrilla warfare and the challenges to contain it. The movie's message relates to just about every insurgency, revolt and uprising since the last 50 years. People will immediately recognize glimpses of Iraq '03-'08, Afghanistan, etc.

Fun movie in the film noir genre. It's always good to see Christopher Walken in a movie!

If you have netflix, watch the Modern day Sherlock Holmes series from BBC, there are 3 episodes for now on streaming, 1.5 hours each, and each is better than the movie imo.

Planet of the Apes - 9 - Love the attention to detail and ape's character transition
Night of the Living Dead - 8 (would be higher except its in black and white, and no repeat potential because of that)
Land of the Dead - 8 (same writer as Night of the Living Dead I think, another low budget film, but well done zombie flick)
Hot Tub time machine - 5 - Decent time pass flick, but thats about it

Need to check out Captain America this weekend.
