Battlefield 3 - COD killer?

can anyone comment on the 32v32 for PC?

 

I’m the opposite I really enjoyed CoD: WaW and CoD: BO’s but didn’t like the MW4 (1) and I dint even play MW 2

 

Is it 64 players on XBox too?

I am on my way to pick it up after lunch.

My understanding is 64 player maps are only on PC. Xbox max is 32 players.

First impressions for me: REAL Short Version:

I like it. I have only started playing SP, wanted to wait for friends to play MP.

I found old drivers work much better than the new drivers. Still can't bind mouse controls...that is weak.

Game looks amazing, it really does.

Can't wait to hit up the MP part of the game.

 

which is why PC is the best version. 64 players = battlefield game, that's their main draw imo.

 

Looks like I have to buy it for both then.....more $$$$ gone....

Can I ask why buy for PC and console?

 

Only 3 copies, Two Xbox copies and one PC copy.

I like to play the game with 64 players, I love the BF series, BF1942 is still my all time favorite game.

Don't feel too bad though, I get to write off every game purchase on my taxes....

different genres, different platforms, different standards, different reviewer. Battlefield 3 has the better bang for the buck since of its epic multiplayer which = replay ability. Uncharted 3 is just a single player with pretty graphics(though not as nice as battlefield 3).

 

You obviously haven't played the Uncharted 2 multiplayer.

 

And I hear Uncharted 3's MP is pretty good too.

I'm sorry but are you saying uncharted multiplayer is even nearly as robust and battlefield 3? gameslike battlefield 3 will always have lower numerical scores than games like uncharted 3. numerical scores are mainly there to rate how polished a game is. A third person corridor shooter with scripted sequences and a small scale multiplayer is a much easier game to polish than a grand scale game like battlefield 3. There are so many small things than can go wrong or could be more polished in a game like battlefield that it is virtually impossible for a reviewer to find absolutely zero flaws in a game. From vehicle mechanics to balancing issues there is just a wide array of things a reviewer can nitpick.
Uncharted 3 has a good story and good graphics(for a console game). But I don't play video games to play a good story. Movies are for that. I play video games for fun. And battlefield 3 just has so much pure unadulterated fun. So many ways to kill or be killed. So many grand and epic battles that no other game has been able to produce. Battlefield 3 is just a more technologically superior game. But again its just my preference. I guess my initial point is review scores between a console 3rd person adventure game and a pc grand scale multiplayer shooter can not be compared.

 

Uncharted series have higher numeric scores because the campaigns owns BF campaigns.

 

Anyone who takes what failed game designers turned reviewers write as any sort of dogma on the quality of the games is crazy.

ya and battlefield 3 multiplayer owns uncharted 3 multiplayer. Again sometimes I think battlefield 3 could have had higher scores if it just left out the campaign entirely. Its the first pure battlefield game with one anyways.
Besides nice thing about mulitplayer... you can play it through more than once. I wonder how many people are playing uncharted 1 at this moment? Look at how many people are playing battlefield 2 , a game made in 2005, now on the servers.

It looks amazing and most of the bugs have been worked out, though there are some small annoyances. Can't wait to play this on an eyefinity setup. Haven't gotten into the SP yet as I've spent most of my time in the multiplayer and will probably only play SP when I have no internet heh.

 

its not just that. Comparing review scores of games that are completely different genres is pure dumb. A game like battlefield 3 will never average near perfect because of all the variables that are attached to a game like that. A 3rd person corridor shooter has a much easier time of achieving perfect scores.

 

Exactly, and there are lots of game types that are varying degrees of fun, I till play Plants vs Zombies every day.

Anyone getting "Kicked By Administrator"?
Tried to play a little before work this morning and kept getting kicked, only tried a few servers tho and didnt troubleshoot it much this morning. PC BTW.

Also does anyone else not like the browser plugin idea? Thought it was just going to be for the beta... maybe I need more time to get used to it.
