I forget the movie but the line went something like this. "there are two things in this world I wont buy. water and 'V' (no this exact word, but hopefully you get my drift) after reading the whole thread, I giggled I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say generic penis enlargement pills. pffft
I've purchased generic toilet paper on sale once before (think it was Harris Teeter) and I have never done it since.
Toothpaste/dental products (Crest and Listerine) and ice cream (Blue Bell) are the only things I can think of.
Cereal. I'm addicted to the Special K w/ strawberries. I tried the HEB version last week. I won't do that again. I don't wear clothes that advertise for their brands so it doesn't matter to me where I got them. Though, I will not cheap out on my soccer shoes. Adidas or Kelme is all I've owned over the past 20 years.
Pretty much the only knock-off brand I have bought on occasion would be soda and bottled water. Other than that, I'll get a cheap name brand. Sanyo over Sony.
I've been using the Pro Glide for a few months now and I love it. 5 minutes after I'm done, it feels like I didn't even shave. Yeah, I'm probably a sucker for all the marketing WRT razors. I have to have all the comfort strips, medicated strips, triple blades, etc. etc. etc. I would never just use a single blade disposable without all the bells and whistles.
I like Special K w/ Strawberries too. FWIW, I like the Great Value version and even more so the Publix version.
I remember a similar experiment in my marketing class. The teacher brought in Pop Tarts and store brand/generic toasty tarts or something like that. Out of 27 people only 3 knew Pop Tarts were Pop Tarts.
I tried the generic frosted mini-wheats thinking there wouldn't be a difference between that and the real thing. I was surprised that it did taste different and the texture wasn't the same. It was edible but I didn't enjoy the taste as much nor feel satisfied...so I went back to the original.
Hey Boz, Does Echo make a trimmer that you can add the edger head that is on a wheel? I am horrible at edging and I see landscapers have this wheel thing and they finish edging so quickly.
Yes they do. Costs around $100 thou. Have not made that investment. I use the Shindaiwa Speed-Feed Head. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/DA2qoeToSL8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
