According to ESPN breaking news, CUSA and the Mountain West have agreed to merge into a 2 division, 22 team football league beginning in 2013.
Can they? If the Big East takes Boise State would there be a single football team in the conference with a chance to make the top 25 rankings outside of Houston?
Well I mean at its current state with UConn and WVU out of there also... if they get Boise with WVU and UConn still there and then UH... they definitely still keep their AQ.
Good idea. This giant amoeba of a conference can afford to have 6 teams leave for greener pastures and still be at 16. Solid, forward thinking. Bravo!
Hopefully, a strength in numbers will get them a BCS bid. The Big East is on life support until 2013. Either way UH is sitting pretty
Don't think it'd happen. If the schools that Big East want leave, then Mountain-USA is just a conference full of a lot of scrubs.
I think this is an awesome step for two mid-major conferences to gain traction amongst the evil that is the BCS. I also applaud this move, as I think this may be the best way to pressure this thing towards a playoff.
I hope it works out, too. Thrilled as I am at the prospect of UH joining the Big East, the BCS still needs to go. In amateur athletics, the score should be tallied on the scoreboard, not the bank statement.
