I've been offered this really good job, but it'll require a whole lot of traveling. Well I have a serious case of motion sickness and I can't keep taking pills every time I travel because my body will develop immunity to them very quickly. Anyone have any experience? Is there a surgical fix? I've been googling around and it says that it came from some imbalance to the ear and some other stuff. Maybe get something done in my ear. But I was wondering if there are any more natural ways of curing motion sickness?
I was thinking. . . is it like seasickness You tough through it enough . . your body gets use to it? Rocket River
It is like seasickness, but it doesn't go away. It happens in the car, train, bus, plane, you name it. Except motorcycle, maybe because of the wind? I don't know. I'd hate to turn down a job because of my inability to travel.
I got some promethazine when I traveled overseas and that **** does work. Simply amazing. However I'm afraid since I'll be traveling on a weekly basis, I'd grow immune to them in a few months. That's what I don't want. Is there a more natural way of doing it?
Try chewing gum or ginger. Also do not attempt to read or use laptop during travel. There are some herbal remedies and drops that you place behind your ears. I've heard some good things about those, even though I've never tried it. Try to look out of the window and watch the surroundings. The theory is that the vomiting center of your brain (area postrema) is being falsely stimulated while traveling. You are sensing motion, but you cannot see it. Thus your brain thinks you have taken some sort of drug and this drug is poision. Thus the area postrema kicks in and causes you to vomit. Those few tricks have helped me over the past few years as I've been sailing more often and used to get sea sick every time.
My mom has horrible motion sickness. But she's a people's person, so she always manages to chat with her neighbors to take her mind off the flight. She also tries to not get enough sleep beforehand to make it easier to sleep on the plane. She do these things cause she dislike pills in general. Of course, she doesn't travel for business. So not sure how helpful this is.
I get motion sick a lot. I even get motion sick when I drive myself down winding roads. Dramamine works but make sure you take the night before and right before you travel. The main thing is to remember to regulate your breathing. When things get turbulent, people tend to hold their breath and it makes the motion sickness much worse. This is why motorcycles don't make you sick. The air hitting your face makes you take in fresh air.
I got back from a trip like 2 weeks ago. When I got back I was dizzy for a week and half. I finally feel like I have my balance back and feel normal. Motion sickness sucks.
Thanks guys, motion sickness does suck balls. So ginger candy or something? and I'm not a good smoker, my throat literally can't take it, it burns. And the last time I did weed was a few years ago when my buddy put it in our shisha and I threw up haha. Also I don't think talking affects it. I still get sick, even sometimes when I sit shotgun. My last motion sickness was just last week going to an interview and it suckkked big time. Can you find out what they are? I'd be most appreciative
