I never had the chance to watch the game, but ... Yea? how many times did he tip the ball for his teammates when rebounding? I'm just curious. NBA players normally play for stats, maybe he doesn't know he should not be tipping to teammates for stats too.
Thats not the point. That could happen to any player in any game. You gotta look at the entire game. Defense is terrible. We couldnt stop their guards from penetrating. Just look at their assists #. Ming was trying so hard to cover his teammates. Look, how could a 7' 6" guy ended up guarding a 6' 2" guard. You tell me. Our defensive rotation suks. Once our guards got shut down or their shots just not falling, we dont have any other consistent offense to fall back on. It goes to the coaching . It really suks.
He has always been very skeptical of Yao. Maybe he just didnt know, not even himself, that he is a MInG basher.
What makes this even worse is that when Cato comes back, Yao Ming would get even less minutes no matter how he does. But hey Cato played well this year so it's not too bad, so he isn't too bad for him and he can be a enforcer inside. But we needed another big man tonight inside and Ming was needed. Sure he got took and got fouled, but it's hard to switch off your man and try to block a streaking guard or small foward, especially atheletic ones like Marbury, Penny, and Shawn Marion. He did what he had to do and its better that he try to take a swat then KT just letting ppl score at will.
We lost because of Mobley's many boneheaded plays tonight. Unfortunately, he may be the least intelligent player we have on our team basketball-wise.
Rudy T is a confused man out there today. When Rice has his way over Jacobson he stoped calling play for him; when MoT is unstopable he was taken out of the game; When Yao played all his minutes decent he did not get any extended play.
Man, you know he be riding Yao's Jock if NY could've fixed the lottery. Especially with McDyss out, no real post presence, Yao could be putting up Nene Hilaro numbers atleast NOW. Even Bradley did that. Really maybe if NY fixed lottery Yao could be in the best situation with huge asian population, playing time, and more national exposure. Heck even the media would respect more and help the brother out instead of ridiculing him.
what are you talking about? he's averaging 3.7 rebound per 14 minutes. he's a SOLID 11~12 rebounder if you give him 40 minutes!!!! do you math man...
Don't forget how many rebounds he tips, if he can help his team better by tipping, he will. Sure if he tries grabs every rebound himself he will look more agressive and get the numbers, but he might loose a couple battles and the other team will get an offensive board, if he just stuck with the getting the best chance for our "team" to get the board in form of say tipping, his stats would look bad and he'd look soft, but hey it might help out in the long run. Looking at the game tonight his so "lack of rebounding ability" didn't hurt us that much, especially since he was away from the basket most of the night trying to stop a streaking player that beat one of our guys.
things i noticed tonight.. I think Rudy kept Yao on the bench because Phoenix was running.. but even then, I did see Yao run up the court pretty well for a 7'6", 300 lb center. I didn't see him get beat down the floor, and I was watching his every move. Another reason, was that Phoenix was running a pick and roll, and I'm sure u all agree Marbury on Yao is a huge mismatch.. esp. when Yao hit the deck LOL.. Woulda liked to see his teammates get him the ball right away to give him some confidence back though. also, i thought Yao should have played in the last defensive play.. he just has to stay in the lane and he will change the Suns' shots Anyways, great game.. I was jumping up and down on all of Yao's scores.. especially on those 3 dunks and the swat off the glass
YAO Shoots >75% in CBA and shoot 21/21 in a playoff game vs BAYI under huge pressure where only a championship will bring him to NBA. In WBC he shoots >73% where USA(All NBA stars) only got 6th places. In NBA only after 5 games he improved his shooting to>54%. Have you ever seen any player ever shoot 21/21 FG in any game anywhere?? nuff said.
LOL mycault you're just be being whinnt now. I don't think yao was getting down the flower too slow or that much of a defensive liablity. How many true centers would even attempt to guard marbury after that row, most centers in the league would either give him the J or let the dude drive by, Yao put his team in front of his pride and at least try to front Marbury, that takes guts and should be respected. Still funny as sin though
Did anyone notice when Ming was on the block, and he couldn't budge Tsakalidis? That boy needs to seriously build up that upper body..
