"Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws." - Plato "Probably all laws are useless; for good men do not want laws at all, and bad men are made no better by them." - Demonax
While I agree with you, if I write a paper that far outside the box my teacher will probably fail me. Don't want to risk my grade on my true-to-heart opinions.
Polls with varying degrees of bias to one side of an argument or another should be arranged in a sequence reflecting those degrees.
if your gonna write a paper about the subject, then use the results from the Chicago , D.C. gun bans. Pretty clear cut case of it not working in the US. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/10/more_guns_fewer_murders.html
Also, all criminals are super-geniuses; and life is perfect, predictable, and you usually only have to make one difficult choice at a time, so good people never have to weigh differing moral ideals.
Also, people only act on instinct and never logic of self-preservation. For example, if I can kill someone I dislike without suffering consequences, then obviously I would also kill said person if it means I spend the rest of my life in jail. I can't imagine anyone thinking differently.
I think humans are much more complicated than just good and bad. Here's another good quote: I've seen a rich man beg I've seen a good man sin I've seen a tough man cry I've seen a loser win And a sad man grin I heard an honest man lie -Everlast
Yeah, my bad. I'm actually leaning towards increased gun regulation, not outright banning-- that's just stupid.
I think Texas' current gun control is about right. I would change the law to allow nonviolent felons to be able to legally buy a gun, after they served their time, and a while (maybe a decade) has passed.
How are you going to use this poll? A survey of a population that tends to be white, tends to be young, and tends to be Texan isn't very scientific.
