I know this probably will never happen but what if the league and the players never agree and the season for 2012 would have to be played with replacement players. Would this change your view on the NBA? The stigma that the NBA is the best league in the world, would that still stick? Especially if we know there are players like Lebron, Melo, Kobe out there.

I am a firm believer that when one door closes another one opens, and the NBA infrastructure and structure could find and develope other players that are just as good or better to the current superstars. So to me, even though we would loose players like Lebron, I wouldnt mind replacement players because someone would eventually be the next Lebron.

So my real questions are, Are we Rockets fans or NBA player fans...Would we still support our Rockets that didn't have these current players?

Replacement players are completely and totally illegal in the event of a lockout, and frankly is just ethically disgusting. Will never happen without the owners being sued to high heaven, and I could not support the Rockets if they did that.

This has been said already; but you can't have scabs in a lockout. Only in a strike.. and even then it's very hard to pull off. Still, as it is, there is literally ZERO chance of this, not even .000000000001%.

There's only one Kyle Lowry and Luis Scola. No one can replace their heart, hustle and loyalty to the game.

Barely keep up with the current garbage we have on the roster. If it got any worse...

If the union decertified, the league would then be free to use replacement players, wouldn't they?

Regardless of the answer, I'll play along with the hypothetical. The learning curve of finding out who a new batch of 450 players are is too high for me at this stage in my life. Even now, I'm slow to pick up on the rookies as they come in. So, I wouldn't bother with the league then.

If I understand it correctly, once they decertified, they could not lock them out any longer - as they would be under contract etc.....right?

So the players could come back to work, or force the owners to let them honor the contracts they signed through the court system.

I think a more likely scenario would be a player-owned and operated league should the owners prove to be completely intransigent. Even that is a pretty low probability, but I would support a Houston team created as the result of the lockout.

I am a little surprised the Agents haven't tried to start something like that? Probably because the league would immediatly stop the lockout to quash the competition.

Maybe ESPN and TNT should pick up some Euro ball where NBA players are playing?

I would "support" a Houston Rockets team, regardless, but I wouldn't attend games, I wouldn't buy merchandise associated with it, and I would cancel my League Pass, which I pay far too much money for every season. In short, my "support' would be minimal and I would write letters to whoever might publish them denouncing the entire farce.

Come on Deck....League pass is only $169 which is a little more than $2 a game.....and that is if you only watch the Rockets....I think it is a great deal....

It's a way to protest a farce of a league, DD. I buy the damn thing every season, but if the team is made up of scabs, I simply won't give the league my money. That's one of the ways they get my money, no? And it would be an entire league made up of scabs, not just the Rockets.

This really depends on the quality and attitude of replacement players. If they are complete crap and have attitudes like T-Mac or T-Will, then HELL NO! If they try hard and play hard, then probably.

The NBA can't hire scabs anyway, that would open them up to serious lawsuits....Scabs can only be brought in during a strike.

There are at 2 or 3 scabs per team anyhow... They should just tour with the And 1 ballers and put on an entertaining show... Who wouldnt want to see Brian Sclabrine try and dunk on Thabeet?...priceless
