I loved this movie for the reasons you mentioned. I'm not sure why more people didn't. I didn't know there were more than one ending and will have to look into that.
Citizen Kane 8/10 So decided to watch this movie to see what all the hype was all about. I have to say it was pretty disappointing. I mean it was a decent character study movie and good acting. Some of the technique that was use to shoot this movie might be ahead of its time but I didn't find anything so great about it. The only thing that great was the excellent writing behind this movie.
I'm watching this on youtube while working. It's about the rise and fall of America's second largest steel company, Bethlehem Steel. The documentary tells of how the giant company got torn apart by greedy management, over-entitled unions, cockiness, lack of foresight/innovation and foreign competitions. It reminds me what's happening to America today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QTGiHOZZFU&feature=related 8/10 for people who likes documentaries without the History Channel type sensationalism.
50/50 - 10 out of 10 i don't know what type of movie this is, it doesn't really belong to any of my standard categories... but this movie is so profound and beautiful, with a pinch of humor, and overall it's just genuine i absolutely enjoyed it, and will seek out more movies like this in the future anna kendrick is beautiful
Transformer: Dark Side of The Moon 2.5/10 Can't believe people said this POS is better than the POS 2nd film. This is the worst out of the 3. This is one of that film that you wished all the main human characters get kill off but sadly they don't. **** Michael Bay and **** Spielberg. I'm damn glad I didn't waste money on this turd and the 2nd one. Michael Bay should never direct another film. This guy is way worst than Roland Emmerich.
Thank You For Smoking - 9/10 ****ing brilliant! Harvey Dent was perfect for the part. The only problem was the son. I couldn't decide whether he can't act or he purposely acted like he can't act. Moon - 4/10 I probably shouldn't put this here, because I haven't finished it. I watched the first third of it and it was way too boring for me. Fast forward to the middle apparently he's not alone, and skipped to the end.. he lives? dies? That's all I know. Human Centipede - 3/10 Same thing with above. watched half of it, boring. Skip skip skip. ending. Meh. Different concept of a story though, I guess.. right?
King's Speech 8/10 Usually not the biggest of fans of period pieces, but this one was good. Fine performances all around and I loved the scenes between Rush and Firth. Absolutely ridiculous that it's rated R though.
The Life of David Gale - 8/10 Just re-watched the movie over HBO, probably the 4th or 5th time already. Checked wiki and learn that critics weren't kind to the movie at all in its first release. Not sure why.
Battle Los Angeles - 8/10 I don't care, say that I have bad taste but I really enjoyed this mindless war movie. I started watching it with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. That chick though, I wasn't surprised at all by her being in this movie. Is she only capable of playing 1 role? That tough lesbian military chick?
50/50 - 9/10 - probably the best movie I've seen this year. It was funny, it was heartfelt, it was emotional, and it was just very well written. Surprisingly even Seth Rogan was good in it! Angelica Huston, who had a minor role, was just great in it - if she doesn't get nominated for best supporting actress something just isn't right. Don't go in expecting a light hearted comedy (it is about cancer afterall) and be prepared to get a little emotional. This is the kind of movie the Academy should be honoring...but it most likely won't. Moneyball - 8.5/10 - I saw both of these movies this weekend and really enjoyed both, but 50/50 is better. That being said, Moneyball is great too...especially for Rockets fans. Although Moneyball is different from what Morey does, you can see the similarities. It is a sports movie that doesn't focus on the sports exclusively. Brad Pitt is very likeable and the script is great (Aaron Sorkin wrote it, so that was expected). It's a very enjoyable movie and I think it will hit home with Rockets fans (especially the part about the "streak").
Drive - 9/10 I really enjoyed this one. Bad Teacher - 6.5/10 It was ok. Relatively unknown actress, Lucy Punch, stole the show.
Life as we know it: 7/10 Actually was pleasantly surprised at this...movie that chicks will like...had some funny lol moments, not oscar worthly but a good overall flick to watch with your lady...
Spoiler In the original ending, he dies from the fire and you see a brief scene from the funeral, before an ending shot of his "ghost" talking to his daughter in the burned out remnant of the room. I guess test audiences thought that was too depressing, so they changed it.
Moneyball - 9/10 It was different than I thought it was going to be, and honestly that made it better. Brad Pitt was outstanding.
Exam - 1/10 No hot chick, no recognizable actors with the exception of that dude from Love Guru or something like that. I'm the type that always gets fooled by predictable movies, but this one is just... I mean even I know early on how the ending is gonna be. Drive - 4/10 I thought this movie was supposed to be good from reading this thread. Almost no conversation, but great stare downs throughout the movie.
Captain America: First Avenger 7/10 Totally enjoy this movie until the stupid ending. Instead of giving it a proper ending they rush to push the stupid Avengers crap down our throat that totally cheapen a what could've been a great movie. **** The Avengers. I totally love the WW2 setting and a bit of Castle Wolfenstein like and a mix of Hellboy. They could've gone a couple of more movies with this time frames because Captain America doesn't look out of place what so ever. He fitted right in. The ****ing ending really pisses me off. Spoiler At least spend another 5 or 10 mins of the movie showing Steve Rogers searching out Peggy Carter and or surviving family members and maybe return something that belong to her that could have written into the script somewhere during the movie. At least it would have given it a proper closure to the movie and the for audiences. I can't believe they ****ed it up that badly.
