A really funny story - I may have to start calling some of the posters here 'Cotton.' I couldn't help but wonder if the session drummer was Kenny Aranoff.

Jeff, I hope your recording experiences haven't been this melodramatic. Even my ex-band (which was dysfunctional beyond all comprehension) didn't self-destruct in the studio like b**** Slap.

I really like the part where the b**** Slap drummer (Cotton) who can't play on the beat or play the same part twice tells session drummers his approach to drumming :)

Nah, just kidding. But, I have been in a few that have gotten out of hand. Funny stuff.

I guess all those jokes about drummers DO have some merit to them...

My favorite in my own recording experiences was when in 1989, the management of the band I was playing in booked a week for us at the studio Scum & Hosebags (aka Guns & Roses) used to record Appetite for Destruction.

We wanted to use the week to record 4 songs really really well.

Our management wanted us to use the week to record an entire album - 12 songs.

Guess who won out? You guessed it...MANAGEMENT. We came out of there with 12 songs that sounded very half-assed, putting it mildly, and the management company dropped us later that year after actually trying to shop that trash.

This was absolutely one of the best reads I've had in a long time. I'm just pissed that Mixerman didn't continue. Do any of you guys know why he quit posting his diary?

    I can answer that...

He is currently on hiatus from the BS sessions..Harmon disappeared..noone knows where..Cotton is obviously ****e...

Lance started writing his own diary of the drummer auditions..and him and MM had a falling out...you can read Lance's entries in Fletcher's forum...

MM claims that as soon as the BS sessions re-start, he will continue them..

BTW,..he's asking for ppl to tell why they should replace Lance as his second..anyone interested? Evidently Lance lost the second gig and if I read it right..he might b close to losing the replacement bassist gig also...

I love this saga! Reminds me of the good ol days tracking records..we werent as screwed as these guys..but some of the stuff we did was pretty nutty...
