Politics is simply who gets what, when, where, and how...

All good thanks to Chance and ROXRAN for demonstrating why I don't engage in political "discussions" in bars.

Haven't been in a few months, but I believe the beers are $.65 now, except for those infrequent but transcendent days when they need to balance the books & actually pay people to drink. And yes, after a relatively brief infatuation with Pearl Bock, the Shiner is back.

Who the hell goes to Valhalla and orders a GLASS of beer? Its been awhile since I've been back but PITCHERS used to be $2.50. And it was Shiner, then Lone Star Bock.

It must have been awhile, because they haven't served pitchers in, basically, as far back as I can remember. Not sure why they stopped. And, before switching back to Shiner a year or so ago, they served Pearl Bock - it actually wasn't that bad of a generic keg beer.

Of course, I may be wrong.

Doh! Late 80s/early 90s. Nothing better than grabbing a pitcher and sitting on the lawn outside.

Well, I remember when they switched the first time from Shiner, it was to Lone Star Bock, which really wasn't bad either. I guess they went back to Shiner then to Pearl and now back to Shiner in the years after that...

You can't please both contingents, so why not have the best of both worlds?

    Batman,

You took the words right out of my mouth, only they weren't even to my mouth yet. I don't talk politics too much in real life either, for the exact reasons you mentioned.

I like discussing them here, because there is such a wide array of opinions, it gives me understandings of where some people who have differing opinions come from, and I don't mind a good natured respectful debate.
