Someone just said this today in order to justify that a player who won a scoring title with a losing team was better than an MVP
Dream was really proud of his MVP, he gathered his teammates and coaches together when David Stern awarded him at the Summit.

The newer fans of today have never seen an MVP on the Rockets, some of us have.

    Our Dream was real.

And Clutch City and Clutch City II were the best stories that a Rocket fan could tell.

Thanks to Yoyo for this amazing video, and thanks for including the MVP ceremony.

This is my signature. Apparently Clutch doesn't think it's a farce.

You can win DPOY, MVP, Finals MVP, if it's a farce.

It just proves that your season was better than any meaningless season with stats, that you did it all and won it all.

I wasn't old enough to understand the league completely back then... but it was probably true.

That's not to say Hakeem didn't deserve the award. You have a player on one of the best teams in the league that dominated both defensively and offensively... he deserved the award.

However, usually the MVP IS a farce. Sometimes they get it "right" and give it to the actual player that was the best in the league that year. But usually if they don't give it to the "best story" then that person probably was the runner up. I remember Hollinger breaking down players that either won it or were 2nd in voting and they either went on to have better seasons with no MVP consideration... or they already had a better year before and didn't get any consideration for the award. Jason Kidd almost winning the award one year and Steve Nash almost winning the MVP for the 3rd time in a row... it's a disgrace to the award.

No. Hakeem winning the MVP was not a farce. However, when David Robinson won Hakeem's MVP trophy, that was a farce. And Hakeem showed them exactly how big of a farce immediately.

You really are something. No one ever said Hakeem didn't deserve an MVP. I didn't call Hakeem's MVP a farce. I think the MVP award itself is an award that can only be taken with a grain of salt because there's no good reasoning behind how it's awarded and I resent that it's used as an argument to distinguish player achievements.

Derrick Rose, Nash > Lebron, Kobe?

    I don't think so.

Tinman is seriously the dumbest person I've ever met on Clutchfans (yes including GlenRice, and ToyCen). He just twists anything anyone ever says that somewhat could remotely be detracting to any Rockets player and blows it out of proportion.

They're numbers were almost to the 'T' exactly the same that year. Only difference was Robinson's team won 17 more regular season games. Of course he deserved it more in 95 than Hakeem did.

I don't like to get involved in this but tinman's trolling is seriously going to another level.

Talk about taking something out of context.

I hate getting involved, but it's one thing to call someone stupid for not agreeing with you. But to call someone a non-Rocket fan because he doesn't believe that MVP is everything?

And you are going to create a thread just so you can smear a person who said nothing in context to your thread?

This is going too far tinman, you need a break from this board.

You aren't the only Rocket fan out there with an opinion.

Derrick Rose winning MVP this year was a farce.

Jordan not winning more MVPs was a farce

Hakeem has retired from professional basketball. The Rockets last championship was in 1995. That's over 15 years ago. Stop living in the f-cking past. Yes it's great that it happened and I love Clutch City, but you don't have to keep ramming down our throats every f-cking day. F-CK.

Damn. It just hit me, you're freaking obsessed.

The Rockets championship years are to tinman like:

cake is to a fat kid,

    alcohol is to an alcoholic,

or drugs are to an addict.

You're literally obsessed. What's the shrine in your room look like?

Maybe if you're tired of hearing about Clutch City, you should go to a website not named after Clutch City.

This is the year 2011. I'm extremely happy that we have two championships to our name but come on, certain people don't have to relive them every damn day. Maybe i've just been on this site so long that it's become normal to see tinman's obsession.

Hakeem has been in the news lately,

haven't you heard that all the real ELITE players of the NBA have been going to him, some guy named Howard, another named LeBron
and this other dude named Kobe.

Apparently if you post a Kobe video, a massive group of fake Orlando fans will invade it.
