The Nets just beat the Spurs 91-82 to put the Spurs' record at
5-3. This means the Rockets move to second place in the Midwest!!! They trail Dallas, who is undefeated going into tonight's game versus Cleveland. I know it's early, but it's so sweet to see the Rockets atop the Division standings, and the Conference standings, for that matter.

yeah..its nice to not start off in a big hole like most of the previous years..
its early, but hopefully we can stay in the 1-8 slots all year..
    i think thats very doable..

    False start!

We are not even 1/10 through the season yet.
Getting way ahead of ourselves here.

Pull back on those ropes and slow down!

Hey, at least this is better than if we were 1-5 and at the bottom of the west. We would be trying to reassure ourselves that we have been unlucky and that things would change.

Even though its early, I would much rather be in this position.

I call it "Hanging with the big boys." I know it is early but that is not going to stop me from taking stock, now. Remember I have a bet out there where I expect us to have a better record than the Spurs. The bet even gives me a 5 game cushion. Nothing I have seen so far, this season, suggest to me that I am way off in my expectations. As with many teams, we are also just getting started, so while others will improve so will we. The best part of the season for us is ahead of us.

Rudy said that our fg% will go up and I expect it to. Just that improvement is going to keep us in the hunt. The only thing that will stop us is injuries, as there is no bad attitude on this team. I do not know how long it will take us to have the type of chemistry that Dallas, Sacramento or Sonice have, but when we do we will keep pace. Hopefully it is by the time Bibbdy gets back.

Regarding the Spurs, I know they will improve but the way they have played is consistent with how I expected when we argued extensively on this board, two months ago, as to whether we were in their class and can matchup with them.

Don't look now, but we're 2nd in the division now and have home-court advantage in the 1st round. I've been pretty ticked off all year 'cuz it seems like we're never playing, but now it doesn't seem so bad as we move up the standings.

Don't get ahead of yourself; it is still early in the season. :p

Didn't we start last season 5-2 before everything fell to pieces? All the same, though I expect a little drop of the .667 rate, I think we'll do pretty well.
