OO OO ME ME ME im tired of it, especially the intro for the game and the television. They need to come up with better ideas. The starting lineup intros seemed pretty weak, with the big projection thing with the power dancers,turbo, and clutch the bear. The intro before the game is pretty lame too. I rather have them show highlights instead of two little kids bouncing the ball and looking up at a billboard.
GOD I HATE THOSE GUYS! They are so annoying and I always notice that they start playing when we have the ball and I wonder if the players can even hear each other well. I saw them take the stuff up some stairs and play right in front of a section and told my gf that I feel sorry for the people in that section. Then what else would happen, but later in the game they come to my section! They get more annoying each game, I wish Les would get rid of them and do ANYTHING else! Pugsl8422 P.S. I wonder if they realized how stupid they look with their hair, faces, not to mention their stuipd names on their shirts.
I am so glad I am not the only one to feel that way. Sometimes I feel like I am at some kind of circus rather than a basketball game. I think they try way too much. I wish they would keep it simple. The old intro was much better or at least something similar. I watch the players and they are not digging that intro at all. It would be nice to see some sort of organist like at the garden. Even LA seems to have an organist. Much better than those drums and those stupid looking guys.
I think drums are to simulate the drums that are played during the traditional Chinese Dragon dance. The similarities are unmistakable. Also, throw in the fact that the cheerleaders aren't using pom-poms, but they're using red flashlight, looking sticks, that definitely show an Asian flair. Billions of people from China are watching every night. There's an ad for chinese beer, written in chinese, along courtside every night. Anyone get a feeling that David Stern's marketing people are talking with Les Alexander's marketing people?
I think the cheerleaders sticks are related to Reliant energy, at least that is what they say at the end. I kind of agree with you on the China connection, it certainly seems that way. The intro still is lame. They need to do something about it. There is no Hype. It makes me yawn when I am there at the game. I want to get pumped up.
The new intro is ok...and I dont mind the drummers getting the defense chants started...I think what the originator of the thread is talking about is the commercials they roll during the games over and over...the "be part of something big" commercials with the still shots of players...the big words on the screen....and the beates in the background. Those are only annoying because they roll them sooooo often IMO
