Our defense really made the difference tonight. That and the play of the Franchise.

Good defense makes everyone on offense look good.

and it makes the transition game easier. How about our ability to turn that 3rd Q defense into a fastbreak? awesome.

It seemed like Hawk really got the defense going with his play in the third quarter. Man it is going to be hard to keep this guy off of the court. Eddie really new when to turn it up at the end of the game as well. This could really be a turning point to the way the entire team approaches defense this year.

Juaquin was an animal in the first half too. But the real story was Rasheed and Bonzi going 6 for 29. If I was a ref, I would have given them a tech for flagrant pumpkin tossing.

I think the zone teams are playing are going to kill players like Rasheed and Bonzi because it takes away the middle from them and they don't have a consistent enough of a jumpshot to kill it. Jumpshooting will be very important this year. The best jumpshooting teams will do all the damage this year beside the lakers who have shaq.

once Ming gets completely into the flow (great game tonight, perfect shooting & no fouls) I think he will become the ultimate "zone-buster." He will also be close enough to the basket to give the "easy" pass.

    Here's what we have:

We have 1 player who can MAKE the plays when it's needed. When it counts. When the game is on the line. Maybe even 2 players.

But we also have a player that can make stops at critical times (Griffin).

These are 2 of the most essential things in the playoffs.

Hawk is something else. Not only is he the best one on one defensive player on this team but he has to be top 10 in the league. I am really not surprised that we are this good defensively. In fact, I would be surprised if we were not this good. Look at the talent! Plus, Rudy has had defensive teams before. Not to add to the rotation talk, but you cannot keep that intensity up, for an extended period, with a 7-8 rotation.

I never felt that with Rox. So many good players, so many different tactics.
