The Rockets don't even own their next pick, do they? Sure would suck, if the Rockets got a lotto pick, and it went to another team (

    Only one debit left.

    --------------------
    From realgm.com

    Houston Rockets
    Credits

1st round pick from Chicago. Must be Chicago's. No option. Due by '04. Top-20 protected in '03 and '04. If the '04 protection is met, Chicago will instead send their own second-round picks in '05 and '06.
(September 28, 2000: Rockets trade G Bryce Drew to Chicago Bulls for future considerations)

    Debits
1st round pick to Memphis. Can be Houston's pick or another teams' pick that is in the top-13. Houston's option. Due in '03. No protection.
(August 27, 1999: Rockets trade G Michael Dickerson, F Othella Harrington, G Brent Price, F Antoine Carr and a future first-round draft choice to Vancouver Grizzlies for rights to G Steve Francis. Rockets also receive F Don MacLean and a future first-round draft choice from Orlando Magic, and the Magic received F Michael Smith, G Roderick Rodes, G Lee Mayberry and F Makhtar N'Diaye from Grizzlies)

I wouldn't want a lotto pick. If this team can't make the playoffs (assuming their healthy), then I don't even want to bother with the lottery.

If the Rockets can hold on to the young talented group they have now, Steve,Cat, KT, EddieG, MoT, and Yao,etc.--They wont need any draft picks for some time..........Rudy will probaly spend most of his spare time looking for vet back-ups for play-off runs.

They owe two more 1st rounders. The Terrence Morris trade & the Steve Francis Trade.

The Morris pick is due at the end of the season, as well as the Francis one. Of course no NBA team can loose their picks two years in a row, so Memphis will get our pick this year (?), and Atlanta would receive our pick in 3 years.

The Rocks don't owe them a pick. They just gave Atlanta a pick that is owed to us (Philly's I think? From the Turkan trade way back). They may have already traded that in the Dickau trade though. That pick has been really moved around.

The only specifically Houston pick that the rocks owe is to Memphis.

And no, we in no way need another lotto pick.

Folks, we're 3-2. We're .600. We're currently 5th in the Western Conference. Why are you already thinking lottery?

You know what would be nice? If we traded KT to Memphis to satisfy the obligation.

It's looking more and more like we'll need a tall, much more effective, guard to backup both Steve and Mobes.

Mooch isn't cutting it, and Hawkins is not able to play PG.

Someone like Jamaal Crawford would be excellent.

Not likely, but suppose the **** does hit the fan and the Rockets end up with a top 5 lotto pick. It's nice to know that they can trade a player away and get a top 13 pick to send instead of their own pick.

No trade of KT please! He is an important part of the Rockets offence, especially since Rice and Yao Ming are not producing! I agree with a trade of Norris.

Last time I looked KT is the only one who is ready to play the three.
With MoT returning and Kt at the 3, small ball with recurr with less frequency...less minutes for Moochie.
Besides that, I like Moochie in the clutch as long as he gets fifteen minutes or less.
We seem to have an overload of young talent. I dont see where a draft choice would be much help..

Back to the three spot....If you are expecting help from Glen Rice or Boki, you may have to wait for the rims to be repaired first..Way too much damage from their clankers so far.!!!

Memphis sure needs another F. They have Battier, Gasol, Gooden, Swift, Wright all trying to be fit in (sound familiar?) ... THEY need a Doug Christie-type. We need a Doug Christie-type. Me? I'll settle for Spree (Rice/Mooch)...

Ouch thats scary .....Spree, Mobley and Francis all on one court at the same time ......Poor Griff and Cato would be chasing them around the court the whole game trying to steal the ball just so they could get a shot once in a blue moon. :D
