This reminds me of the old Mile High Stadium days and early Coors days. Stros had some GOOD teams and the Rockies were BAD but odd things always happened to the Stros.
the rockies have both eli and peyton's college backup qbs on their roster. that's the craziest tidbit i've heard in a while.
First time i've seen Jimmy's inexperience at third cost him. Mills will lose his job thanks to his obsession with JMike, Lopez and lefty/righty thing.
I missed the play... what happened? I've seen him make his share of blunders already. At least once I seem to recall costing us a run or runs and it always makes the pitcher throw more pitches, and usually high stress ones.
WOW...missed those errors. I've slacked on my Stros watching lately. He made a throw to second to try and force Fowler when he should have thrown in to first.
Best case with Bogusevic is that he overachieves for long enough that he becomes a smaller piece in a package trade that involves Wandy or an improved Myers next season. Unfortunately, as awesome as he's looked recently, after a few more hundred PAs, we'll likely see why he hit for such a low average with such little pop in the minors. Plenty of non-prospects come in and make impacts for brief periods before adjustments (or lack of) and regression come into play.
Bourn errrrrrr Schafer needs to do A LOT of that. If he can do that then he should do just fine with his speed.
Wow, that was freakin' awesome... esp. with the way the camera covered it. Out of nowhere, he came flying into the picture. He's made his share of those in his young career.
r9, you've been following the farm more than me over the past year... what were the general scouting reports on Paredes, esp. more recently before his call-up?
lol... that was actually me trying to be positive. No joke. He's a 27-year-old converted corner OF with no pop and about a .770 career OPS in like 1600 PAs in the minors. What's your take? Consider that we're unlikely to be relevant for another 3-4 years at the soonest and now you have a 30-something corner OF with declining speed and even less pop than he started with. I think it's extremely realistic not to expect much from him directly or indirectly... not being a downer.
Brought up to soon...defense was erratic even at his more comfortable positions of 2B and SS. He had played third for a little over a month and was okay....hadn't heard his arm was so good. He had plenty of pop but plate discipline was still a work in progress.
