Thanks for the link/embed, but that was one of the ugliest games of basketball I had ever watched...up until the last minute or so. I remember I had all but given up (more out of boredom than a sense of futility) and was switching back and forth between this and The Simpsons/Family Guy for the 4th quarter. After McGrady made the first 3, I still switched back to The Simpsons during the commercial break. But I came back to the game just in time to see the second three and went, "Oh ****...we finally have ourselves a ballgame here!" All in all, that was probably the greatest regular season game I've ever watched. I'll never be able to truly hate T-Mac after this. Especially since he did it to the Spurs.
Yep. I would take true Rockets fans to watch that up till the end, and those fans were well rewarded.
Y'know, rewatching that, it's obvious that everyone will remember T-Mac's unbelievable shooting. But what really started the comeback was Yao with the put-back jam and the steal-layup conversion. He will be sorely missed.
It was bad. I was there man, and a lot of folks were booing the **** out of the Rockets. Spurs fans were saying "BYE Losers!" and things like that. I had my hands on my face, distraught from the loss. Me and my dad usually stay for the whole game, even in routs...and we did just that. I'd say about 20 mins after the boos started, I was running around the arena.
I was at the game and up until the last minute I thought it was the worst offensive performance by the Rockets I had ever seen. Thankfully, I stayed.
Kenny trying to sound smart but fact of the matter is: Tracy has got to be the one to start running and try to get hot. How in the world can the team create havoc so Tracy can get hot ? Obviously if they played more up tempo Tracy could've gotten more spurts of a few baskets in a row. Kenny is either explaining it wrong or talking nonsense. By the way, if Lebron / Wade or whoever would've done this everybody would've gone crazy in the studio. Tracy does it and it's: Spurs should've won, nice play, bla bla. They both holding a grudge against the Rockets or something.
The next Spurs game eventually was even uglier, Mcgrady dodged the bullet by hitting clutch triple in the last minute there. Oh Man, so many expectations! We were someway around 0.500 but we were living the dream though. Comparing it to this nowadays 0.500... Oh, Damn it. Anyway, if nothing goes wrong, I'll upload the shootout game tommorow, that famous 48-9-9
So excited to re-watch it. Incredible finish. Only if Rockets had some decent role players at that time ...
It's sad that this will be one of his greatest achievements, but it was still damn fun to watch. I freakin' hate the Spurs. Thanks for posting.
