... So you're saying Steve Young wasn't a running QB?

Because there's no way in hell Vick's better than Young.

EDIT: Or are you saying that Vick's the best QB at running?

I guess its a matter of semantics. Vick is the best runner, but Young was the quarterback that ran. Young and vick were both running quarterback and almost anyone would pick young if the had to choose between the two.

I am not saying vick is better qb than young. Given vick wasn't a great passer how did he carry the falcons for all those years?

for those who don't think Young was a running quarterback, watch the following video.

Don't forget an important dimension to consider: punting ability. Anybody remember Randall's 91 yard punt?

I've never gotten why people don't like McNabb. He got the Eagles into the playoffs regularly, to the NFC Championship a few times and once to the Superbowl. He's played hurt and been a team oriented player. As far as I can recall he hasn't been in a scandal of his making.

Ah, my kind of thread. :)

Out of the two mentioned, definitely McNabb.

For those of you mentioning punting remember that just means Cunningham couldn't get them the first down. Cunningham was definitely a better runner than McNabb but Donovan was a better all around quarterback. Cunningham benefited from better wide receivers (Barnett and Williams) and a perennial All-Pro tight end (Jackson) unlike the group moes mentioned earlier that McNabb had when he was in Philly. McNabb did have better running backs (Staley, Westbrook) by far, how many of you can honestly say you remember the likes of Vaughn Hebron and Heath 'Candy Bar' Sherman? I think Cunningham's defense was way better than any defense McNabb ever played with. Reggie White, Seth Joyner, Clyde Simmons, Jerome Brown, Eric Allen, etc. That team was stacked! So looking over it, McNabb did a lot more with a lot less than Cunningham ever did. Cunningham has some awesome highlights as well, youtube the Buffalo play. :)

Now for all those wacky enough to believe anybody would compare Vick and Young, I don't think anybody is doing that at all. Young was the better quarterback hands down but let's not forget the guy played behind one of the greatest quarterbacks ever for a while and lived in his shadow until he won a Super Bowl (remember the "Somebody take this money off my back." line he did when it was apparent they would beat the Chargers). He also played with some of the greatest wide receivers ever, one who is often mentioned as the greatest player ever or one of them. He has a good offensive line, a good backfield and a good defense as well. None of this probably hurt him during his career. Given that he is the better quarterback, I don't think anybody would deny Vick is probably the greatest rushing quarterback the game has seen so far.

Most here would agree, they'd go with Young as well

To someone that bleeds orange like me, young is up there with Dream. I have never seen anyone dominate a football game like he did ever!

gotta go with this, randall out of the three philly qbs mentioned had the smoothest prettiest throwing motion. i was surprised looking up his stats however that he really didn't have that many great passing seasons
