Unless my memory is crapping on itself, that's what I seem to recall. Maybe somebody else can confirm. Pretty sure it was Moochie.
Speaking of Moochie, I say they put an end to the Dave Clark debacle at 3B and hire Mooch to replace him in the interim. I guarantee they sell a few extra tickets if they do that. Mooch will sport something like this up top:
How many runs have we scored off Marmol this season? Moments like these are why we still watch in a lost season.
Bogey's GW Slam... http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=18099375&topic_id=&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_18099375&v=3
There was nothing wrong with getting excited over Moochie, and Mo, or these young Astros. Actually what's the point of not getting excited. It's more fun to have a little optimism and take joy in their progress, or growing process, than to sit there and talk about how much they suck. It's just a game and a hobby. So what if the people excited for them end up being wrong in the end. They still had fun along the way. And if the cynical folks end up being right what did they gain? Nothing but being a sourpuss the whole time. I loved watching Moochie on the many occasions when he seemed to outperform expectations. I like watching the enthusiasm these young stros have. The team might suck, but they still go out there and try to win every night, and they play hard. Nothing wrong with being excited.
Bogey's HR was number 3 on the Sportscenter top 10 along with Garrett Jones' walk off vs the Cards. A nice double play by the Bravos and a triple play by the BoSox were 2 and 1 respectively. I'm getting excited over these guys, it's all we got and expectations be damned...all these guys can become something and I'll enjoy the process.
who didn't love mo taylor hitting 4 straight jumpshots from the elbow to start every other game? it was the rest of the game that sucked.
I wish I could get excited over a roster that's the result of mismanagement, but I can't. I'm just being realistic. Though I AM pretty excited about some of our farm guys- Singleton, Cosart, DeShields Jr., Villar and now Springer.
Nothing wrong with getting excited when they do something good or entertaining. However, it is wrong when what they do good totally overlooks what they do badly, inconsistently, or not at all resulting you in giving them ridiculous contracts that yoke the franchise.
