Anybody seen John Lackey's numbers this season? He's been Happ-like yet has an 11-8 record. Ws and Ls for pitchers are silly, and not just for starters. Throw a few pitches, blow a save, your team scores and takes the lead, and you can get a win.
Yikes... Altuve has to work on that if he's gonna be a 2-hole hitter. His first attempt this season was awful, did better the next time, then that...
Lackey's wife has breast cancer...pretty obvious the guy isn't all there right now. Sucks for the Sox, although they are winnings, but hopefully Lackey can regroup next season.
Had no idea... sorry to hear that. Not sure how much his poor performance is related to that but it has to be weighing him down, on and off the field. He didn't pitch well last season either though. Not sure how long he's been dealing with this.
So does Matt Albers. And Drew Sutton is in the system. Got time with the big club while Lowrie was out.
That could be the case. The gun had him hitting 93 and 94 but he may have just been overthrowing. My guess is that it's a combination of fatigue and simply getting hit hard. He threw 144.2 innings in 2009, 158.2 last season and I have him at 143.2 so far this season.
