JD's one weak spot as a hitter was his power through the minors...4 homers in about a week and a half in the bigs.
Yep, keep remembering JR Towles and that magical September. That said, he did it off a lot of minor league pitchers and JD is doing it off major league caliber starters...exciting indeed. Even the Astrodome makes an appearance lol
Now paredes and bogu are in on the action... btw lyles fastball is definitetly up a tick tonight and his location seems to have improved after the first
Young guys will hustle, give max effort and surprise...we saw the opposite this past weekend but still saw promise even in that. I can live through the growing pains as long as I can see the kids grow up.
If you dig through the books, you'll find tons of examples of young call-ups going off for a relatively brief time and then fading away.... forever, regardless of who they did what against and at what level. I obviously don't hope for that with any of our guys but odds are that only a couple of them will even be in the bigs a few years from now and we'd be lucky if 1 or 2 becomes an an above average player, let alone a very good one. So, between Altuve, Martinez, Paredes, Shuck, Bogusevic, Lyles, etc..., we'd be lucky to end up with 2 legitimately above average ML players. Odds are that most of those guys will be toiling in the minors in 2016.
Paredes has a cannon...didn't realize how strong his arm truly was. Still don't think he is a 3B but well done so far.
For 1.5 games! There will be much more of the flip side of it over the next few years... just tryin to keep it real. Probably better to be prepared for what we're going to go through as fans for quite some time.
