Years ago toys stores starting closing down in bunches. I thought the same thing, kids not into toys. But its more that Wal-Mart and big department stores have killed off the toys stores but are filling up THEIR toy departments in place. Its just different kinds of toys and sellers.

Really its the more things change, the more some have stayed the same.

Go to a toy department now and they have some of the SAME EXACT Star Wars figures STILL selling that originally came out over 30 years ago  Even some of the packaging is the same as it was in the '70s. Some of its overgrown adult collectors, but a lot of it is kids still want them.

If anything, its comic books thats taken the hit cuz of computers.

It truly is a different generation. They still play with toys, but the electronic age is part of their fiber.

Case in point; when we were young and playing tag, you called "timeout."

    Today they say "pause."

    True story, bro.

Some kids in my neighborhood still fly kites and run around the streets creating havoc. I guess that's good to see.

I've never heard kids say "pause" before. That's really weird.

I know all my nephews and nieces above the age of 5 plays with either playstation, ipad, or some other electronic devices. None of my nieces have barbies.

If kids watch their parents use phones/computers/ipads all the time, that is what they will want to do. If kids see their parents outside playing sports, running or hiking, they will want to get into those things.
