    G. Love & Special Sauce isn't hip hop. Sorry about that. And what's with the "you're kidding" thing after 3rd Base? MC Serch is one of the best MCs the hip hop world has ever witnessed. Obviously you're no hip hop head. Where's Miilk, High & Mighty, Kain, DVS, Non Phixion? ...come on now.

That's Why I don't have the Letters "DJ" before my user name:p

As mentioned, this poll stems from the Em movie release.

Beasties were number one for me. If we could pick a number two it would be 3rd Bass

"Informer, blahblahblahvbljd sjkdjfpow ihgowahf eoihfehfe woifhefb lahblahb, boom boom now."

Who did that "Back to the Hotel" song? N2Deep or something to that effect.

"My Possee's On Broadway" was by Sir Mix-a-lot. Snow isn't hip hop either, he's a reggae artist (and a good one too). Too bad he's typecast as 'the informer guy'. "Back 2 Tha Hotel" was N2Deep. They broke up in 1996 and Jonny Z has a few solo hits including "No Senor". Manny was probably being sarcastic when he mention Robert Van Winkle but what Vanilla Ice did to hip hop bittersweet. He helped get to the mainstream but in doing so whored himself into whatever image SBK Records felt he should hold. His lyrical skills weren't anything worth mentioning but the production was top notch for it's day. His follow up to To The Extreme called Mind Blowin' (I think) wasn't half bad but he tried to hard to redeem himself and ended up sounding pathetic on some cuts. :D

El-P, Fantastic Damage is the best rap album released this year.

And some people are voting Eminem over the Beastie Boys? Boulderdash! The Beastie Boys aren't just one of the best white rap groups, there one of the best and most influential rap groups overall, period!

    Verse Two: MC Serch

Black cat is bad luck, bad guys wear black
Musta been a white guy who started all that
(Make the Gas Face!) For those little white lies
My expression to the mountainous blue eyes
Then form a face, and shake my skull cap
Dismiss the myth, that evil is not black
but opposite spectrum, this done by red man
with horns on his head, laid down the ill plan
Got all his helpers, said, "Make it snappy!
Tell all the people that their hair can't be nappy!"
    Blonde and blue-eyed, or dark-skinned half a G
    A disease, created by leprosy
Don't speak of bleach, bend them to right
Say, "It was night WAY before the light"
Put aside spooks, Serch leaves a trace
I've set em correct with the effect of the Gas Face
