As was expected, the service yesterday was standing room only. Greg would have been so pissed that all of us went to that trouble. It was a great service and a very fitting tribute...but not more than later on that night at Greek Tony's. Lots of stories, lots of laughs, LOTS of beer. A 1 am rendition of "Sky Pilot" by The Animals was a fitting end to the night. It makes me happy to see just how many people were affected by him and how his legacy will live on in his family and his extended family. Thanks for the kind words.
I agree. A lovely and heartfelt post, leroy. It made me wish I'd known him. Can't say fairer than that.
Thanks, again, guys. It's been 7 days since he passed and 3 since the service. I can't say I'm struggling with it any less. I feel for his family and what tomorrow brings. The store re-opens tomorrow and I can't imagine what will be going through their heads. I wish I could be there, driving pies or in the kitchen, just to help out in what might turn out to be the toughest day. On with life as we knew it...minus the bossman.
