    Is this a serious question?

Anyone saying they can give up music is just trolling for attention

I'm guessing music was around before sports. Their wars were probably hella more violent, but they muddled through.

    How do you figure?

As much as I enjoy music, on average I spend more hours per day consuming sports related media than music.

No, you don't actually. Think about every commercial you hear, every TV show you see, every movie, almost every phone that rings, every radio, iPod, etc. Plus, at almost every sporting event. Heck, they even play music at the pumps at the gas stations now. Music is around us so much, we're almost unaware of how much we have. If it all disappeared tomorrow, life would not be the same. At. All.

Sports, I'd take to playing stocks instead of watching NBA.

    Also, I can't study w/o tunes.

I voted to give up music. Music is just background to me.

I enjoy competition and games more than music.

Sounds like an attractive offer, I listen to a ton of news radio now, so I don't think much about music. But I'd still have to give up sports if I really think about it.

so when football starts, it would be easy for you not watching it?

    I choose music.

I cant imagine my life without watching at least highlights of sports.

If you pick music, you couldnt watch a single vid with sports in it, (an amazing play, a funny play, etc).
like music videos with sports you couldnt watch it. and maybe you couldnt talk about sports, because you have to watch it to make an opinion, you just had to read what people think

All the above applies to music too, but people saying music is so important.
Imaging all the movies with sports parts in it, every commercial with sports, etc.

Its really a very tough choice, for people picking one side so easily.

During the commercial break of your next favorite show, take a quick count how many of the commercials feature sports.

Then take a quick count of how many commercials feature music.

I'll wager the number featuring music is at or near 100%. Sports is not even close.

Sign me up for the world where I can watch my Rockets and not be subjected to this during the commercial breaks....

Just to clarify further on my op. Which ever one you do choose to live without, consider it extinct or not yet invented. A world without music or sport.

Music. I could definitely live with out it if it came down to that. 90% of the time I'm listening to anything it's Talk Radio.

I could give up sports without too much real difficulty. I would never give up music.

Neither, that world would be terrible as sports and music are two of the biggest things in my life.

I would give up music. Strangely, I hardly listen to it (excluding background music in shops, or on tv etc). I like it, but I don't know... I even try and force myself to listen to music (that I do actually enjoy). Sometimes I'm reading and I will listen to music on my ipod - - when a track finishes and the music stops, it sometimes takes me an hour to notice!

I definitely can't live without playing football (soccer) - - it would be horrible! Watching sports is a different matter, I think I could give that up more easily...

It's not been invented yet. You can't just sing since you don't even know what singing is.
