Carlos Lee can sit his fat ass on the bench.

Whatever the Astros decide to do, the future of carlos lee should not be considered.

That would be a terrible deal.

Sigleton and brett wallace cannot co-exist. The astros need to get a top flight pitcher and a top flight ss.

Mike Minor and Andrelton Simmons (this kid is hitting .300) with very good defensive skills.

i hate trading for pitching prospects because it seems like most of the time they dont turn out to be average. if that. or like some of our pitching prospects, they get hurt and have to leave the game.

having said this, i dont know much about cosart - he a sure thing?

and another thing, am i the only one that thinks "prospect" is thrown around too much when referring to minor leaguers?

Brett Wallace has done nothing to be assured of an everyday job in the future. Singleton won't be here til at least late next year, more likely 2013. With the exception of his hot start, Wallace has sucked, shown no power, and been a poor fielder. He certainly should be starting now, but not penciled in for the future.

Gobble up all the hitters you can find and sort them out later.

So we are supposed to give up on the prospect we traded our best franchise player for in roughly a year of baseball, because you have the jollies for singleton?

    I don't see it.

Who says give up he should be starting now, and next season. Singleton won't be ready until at least 2013, he's only 19. That will have given Wallace 2 plus years to show us something.

As is Kody Hinze, would get the next shot at first before singleton will.

Like I said, grab all of the hitters you can, if you end up with a surplus at one position, it's a good problem to have.

I wish they'd take the deal including Cosart, I went to highschool with him he's a cool guy and he beasted it up in the futures game.

That's what I thought. Don't blame them waiting a little bit to see what the other trades start to bring back in value and go from there... the luxury of trading guys who are not pending free agents, thus don't have to be let go.

Peter Gammons has mentioned that the astros liked Andrelton Simmons, Mike Minor plus another prospect in the deal. The braves were said to be considering Julio Teheran or Minor as the center piece. Either one of these deals is better than the phillies were offering.

WE need to get Andrelton Simmons in a astros uniform.

To be clear, baseball front offices play lose with words. "Rejected a deal?" No because no "official" deal was probably offered. They have definitely had names given to them and said no though.

Damn. Julio Teheran appears to be an elite pitching prospect.

Pre-2011 #5 rated prospect from Baseball America. Only 20 years old, 11-1, with a 1.67 ERA in AAA.
