I'm hoping the Jets are the "Houston" of this FA period. Nnamdi is using them to drive up his price, knowing all along that he'll come here b/c we'll pay the most. So he'll just use and abuse the Jets the way most FA's do to Houston (the 49ers are throwing a wrench into that theory)
I say we just re-sign Eugene Wilson and Bernard Pollard and call it a day. I mean, they already know everyone on the team.....that way, our little battlefighters won't have to go through the trauma of meeting new people.
He's starting to get like Marc Vandermeer as far as pushing Texans propaganda. They can preach all they want about how hard it is to fit big name free agents under the cap, but when we see teams like the Jets sign Holmes for 5 yrs 50 million and still go after Asomugha we know they are full of it.
We should all relax!! This whole situation is fluid and there are rumors coming from tweets all over the place! Its not over until ESPN says that Nnamdi has agreed to terms with somebody other than us! Nnamdi to NY seems to be a media blown up story right now!!
it certainly generates more hits that Aso to the Texans. But yeah, I wouldnt expect to hear any confirmation until friday or saturday.
RobertMathis98 ROBERT MATHIS by espn_afcsouth im launching a #AntiAsoughma2TheJets campaign ……who’s with me? Hell no Dont u go…..hell no Dont u go….hell no dont u go hahahaaa Lols.
But what if the Texas were trying hard and there just hasn't been a pin drop's worth of noise about it? How dare you not give them the benefit of the doubt! LOL Do I think they're "trying"? Sure. Do I think they try as hard as most of the teams out there? No. Do I think they kill themselves looking for any possible way to make something happen like the Jets are doing right now? Not at all. I get the "don't slam them when you don't know what's going on behind the doors" argument. I do. But on the flipside, that's getting outweighed by 10 years of no results, no indications of major bids that fell short (save less than a handful: Pace, Bodden, etc). It's on them now.
It would be nice if we heard the Texans in a lot more rumors and just knew they were being aggressive. Instead of just guessing or giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are "battling"
TheBillWalton The Bill Walton Trip by michaelombardi Keeping track off all these recent NFL transactions is just as difficult as trying to organize a family reunion for Antonio Cromartie.
Nope, but with the time, money, and emotion I've invested in the team, you're damn right I'm going to refer to them as a "we".
Oh ok, do you have season ticket if so will you renew it if the Texans end up not getting a caliber free agent?
If it's about going to a winner then we don't fit the bill either. Our records over the past 3 seasons are in the same ballpark with SF and we were both 6-10 last year.
I'm 90% Asomugha is going to the Jets right now. They'll have to backload it, but it seems clear that he wants the opposite of his Raiders situation, and hats off to him. Can't complain about that. Renewals had to happen several months ago. And what's with this rise of posters trying to marginalize frustrated Texans fans? Dude, we've been getting pissed on for ten years waiting for a breakthrough. We're still chomping at the bit for a great season. It's what we want. No one WANTS to be mad at the organization. Some of you guys should have worked PR when Nixon was in office.
Come on, give him a break. There's nothing wrong with calling our favorite team "we." The word "Houston" in front of Texans validates that. That goes for any other city sports team.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but Michael Lombardi was just on NFL Network and mentioned the Jets, 49ers, and Texans as the teams in it for Nnamdi and he didn't say any one team had an edge over the other. He described as a poker match right now though.
I do have season tickets, and we had to re-up months ago. If the Texans don't get a high caliber free agent, there's not a whole lot I can do, but I think they owe it to the city to give us something to be proud of. We've been kicked in the gut repeatedly by this team 10 years running now, and it's gotten to a point where I think fans really will start bailing on the team if they don't start winning.
Forgot to say: disappointed to see Jacoby got that kind of contract. I'd sooner take a flier on Plaxico or even Moss at that money. Jones is a dud. Where's the push to get better? I know there's been an upswing in season ticketholders putting more games up on Craigslist/Stubhub. The effect is there and growing, and after the Texans tossed in the unpopular TailHating measures last year, it'll get a lot worse if they don't win back the core base.
