Thanks guys, shes not under contract and her mother is going to switch her to Verizon and I'll buy the phone for her. It's like $200 with a new contract so it will be cheaper than me buying an unlocked phone. She's a good girl, makes good grades, has been through some tough times & she deserves it.

And lol, this thread turned into one of those PS3 vs. Xbox threads, but I don't mind the bickering, I'm actually learning more about phones that I'd ever want to know.

Good to hear. That's definitely a much cheaper route. Too bad you couldn't get by with a 3GS: those were going for like $50. lol

And yeah...I wouldn't pay too much attention to the stuff in here for learning about phones. Ranting fanboys are rarely a good source of info. ;)

And this is coming from the BIGGEST Apple fanboy. How ironic.

Yes we are all jealous of you "buying" someone a 2000 dollar contract commitment.

I will never understand why anyone cares enough about people's product preferences that they would troll and completely derail someone's thread because of a brand choice.

    Let it go. Deep breaths.

As an Android developer and student in the electrical engineering field (I know how cell phones actually work) my personal preference is Android but I owned an iPhone for many years. If you're just a normal consumer iOS may be your best bet, if you're tech savvy and want to have the ability to do lots of interesting things, Android all the way.

Anyways, if she insists on iPhone or nothing than tell her to get on a legitimate carrier that will support 3G data on an iPhone. Verizon is nice.

Why don't you just shut up already? Why does Apple fanboys always butt hurt when other people give another option instead of the iPhone. The guy ask an opinion so he'll get it no matter what. Are you insecure and your iPenis is that small?
