I usually agree with Mrs. JB's posts, but I may have to differ with her on this one. Presumably, *if* a president was pre-menopausal, she would generate used tampons at the rate of one (or more) per month while in office, but even a randy president will hopefully generate stained dresses less frequently than one (or more) per month. ( maybe I underestimate certain presidents?). If this is correct, a stained dress would be more valuable via supply and demand. I'm also assuming a baseline constant demand for any object that a normal human would consider unsavory and ready for the garbage. Sorry to be so exacting, but this thread must not die.
Holy ****!!! In any debate for presidency, the woman must be asked her if she is yet post-menopausal!! Could you imagine electing one that was not post-menopausal, and she went through menopause while in office . We would be all blown to pieces!!! God help us all!!
Me ....nooooooo!! I have all ready begun setting up a room in the house for my son and I in preparation of the day his mother goes through menopause. Once it begins, I will not come out of until the smoke clears. I do fear menopausal women! Love my Mom, but I thought either I was going to have to kill her or I was going to be murdered years ago when my mother went through it. And that was via the phone!!
In all honesty, having had a mother go through it, I can say that she was the emotional version of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I'm all for equal rights for women, but this is a severe obstacle to running a country.
Um, I take it back. I officially want this thread to die now. I can't believe this Victorian era crap. Give me the most chemically imbalanced woman in the world to run the country before another testosterone-poisoned, sports-lovin, saber-rattlin', bomb-droppin', minority-troop-sendin, stock-portfolio-watchin' cowboy.
Oh come TJ, I know you're more logical than that. According to the DOJ, of the total 4,948,330 violent crimes committed in America in 2000: 81 percent were committed by men 17 percent by women This male total includes 100 percent rape/sexual assualt, 93.7 percent robbery and 100 percent attempt to take property with injury. And you're worried about a menopausal woman not being able to keep it in check? Either you're joking or you're ignoring the facts.
Mrs. JB, that was perhaps the most inconclusive, illogical, and irrelevant comparison I have ever seen. You realize that you just tried to show that since men typically commit crimes, then women would be a good choice to run our country. Congratulations, you just beat out your "homeless people are attracting midtown residents" argument from a few months ago for the most far-fetched causal link of all-time.
TJ -- I was pointing out the error in your "logic" of claiming that a menopausal woman was somehow unfit to run the country due to her volatile and emotional nature. If that were the case, wouldn't there be more of them out there doing dangerous things? As far as the homeless, I used statistics to show that they weren't driving residents away from downtown. I said nothing about attracting residents. You just keep getting it backwards, huh?
No, she'll be the first STRAIGHT women president. That means that....oh my god... AHHHHHHH!! I'M MOVING TO CANADA!
But your statistical analysis is dead wrong on mutliple levels. 1) The realistic applicant pool for the presidency does not consist of felons. 2) Your data does not control for age -- the majority of violent crimes are committed by people under the age of 30 -- even I know that menopause doesn't kick in until later in life. 3) Just because someone isn't committing a violent crime doesn't mean they can adequately meet the extremely high physical and mental demands of the presidency 4) At last count, we've had 43 presidents. All have been men. None have been women. Millions upon millions of voters, and 200+ years of history contradict your theory. I used personal experience as to why the homeless *were* driving people away from midtown. I know multiple young women who felt endangered by vagrants roaming the streets in front of their building late at night. Your statistics are very nice, but my actual experiences are much stronger support.
Pole -- that reminds me...the episode where rosie was on Will & Grace was on last night on WB at 10:00...hilarious! "Well K.D. Lang, you are gay!!!"
Women weren't even allowed to vote until 1920. So I don't see how our country's voting history is an accurate predictor of a female candidate's future success. I used personal experience as to why the homeless *were* driving people away from midtown. Your statistics are very nice, but my actual experiences are much stronger support. Now who's being emotional.
Not a chance in hell. Hilary isnt the Wonder Woman everyone thought she would be and Lee is racially biased. Lee is only a few degrees from being a female Quannel X.
