    Pip,

Do me a favor? Call in and tell Rudy that the time is up! Rudy has stolen more money from Les than the law allows. Rudy didn't come up with these excuses when negotiating his $4M/year deal!

Screw Rudy, I should just call Les.

Anyways, I like Rudy as a guy and he has been a good coach in the past. But as several other posters have noted, he does not have the disciplinary mentality or offensive strategy expertise to effectively coach this team. Ideally I'd like to see him move to another position in the front office and bring in a new coach. At the least, I'd like to see him hire an assistant coach who can implement a more structured offense that yields better shot selection and ball distribution.

Please ask: Why Yao couldn't get more touch of the ball.

I agree with half of your assessment. I don't think Rudy lacks strategy expertise. But I think Rudy does have disciplinary problem. Hiring a "strategy expert" assistant is not going to solve the problem. He just needs to be tougher and meaner. Just like Ming said to him, "Coach, you don't have to be so nice to me."

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but some one called in with a good question about players not executing Rudy's offense, and ended it with an "I WANT THE TRUTH" (Few Good Men) reference.

he answered the question about the players not executing, and then when the guy yelled something like "WHO ORDERED THE DRIBBLING OF THE BALL... I WANT THE TRUTH", Rudy was quiet and Charlie jumped in.

Good question? The guy made an ass of himself. He wasn't talking to Jim Rome, he was talking to Rudy. If he would have asked the same question in a different manner he might have gotten an answer instead of being cut off.

Of course the caller made an A$$ of himself...that's the point. He didn't really want an answer. He's the (in)famous dude that messes with talk shows just for the heck of it. The morning guys refer to him as "Dr. Evil"

He actually answered the first half of the question (before the guy lost it). After the question was asked about guys not executing & not incorporating his philosphy, Rudy said "I know where you are going with this, and yes it is a concern."

I do not know about you, but that sounds like he is not happy with what the players are doing, and that the players are not buying into the system.

You know it made me think of the makeup of this team and there is no leader and no one to get in anyone's face when players are not out there doing the right thing.
