I just recently canceled my uverse account because the prices on the bill have gone ridiculously high and they would not offer me any new promotions when I canceled. So as of today (8PM) my services will be cut off, and I need a new service ASAP.

I'm preferably looking for a deal that involves 12 Mbps internet and mid tier TV package + HD that I had w/ uverse for more no more than $100. I've seen that Verizon FIOs offers a great package deal, but apparently my address doesn't match in their database.

    Good luck.

The absolute cheapest way to go would be to spend 65 or so dollars on the cable internet service from time warner or comcast and couple that with netflix.

re-evaluate how much you really use of network cable first off, and then go check and see if you can stream your favorite tv shows online. You'd be surprised at what is available in hd quality at A&E, TLC, History all of this has streaming available for their shows. And the stuff that you can't watch, rent at netflix if it is available.

Also with hbo and showtime, if you have a friend, that will let you use their login you can have hbo and showtime for free online. I use my grandma, she's not going to use it.

Looks like crookcast is your only other option as far as the speeds you want on internet. As for a tv package, I would try satellite.

I would choose Verizon as well but at my location right now there is no service. Cheapest I found was comcast double play which cost 69.99 + tax/fees etc. for performance internet (12MBPS+) and digital starter preferred.

You can blame AT&T for Verizon FIOS not being around here, that stuff murders Uverse IMO.

Unfortunately, if you're in Houston and want good high speeds, Comcast seems to be the only option. If you're rich you could use Phonoscope lol

You can get Comcast 15 mbps speeds for $20/month if you're persistent with the phone reps.
