Where did all this shennanigans come from? I have seen their numbers grow in the past few weeks, been living in the sticks for a while so I don't know if this has been around longer. Isn't this stuff illegal? I know charitable organizations, which may not be generous organizations, stand on intersection corners but I think the "top dollar for your gold" people should be cited by the police.

So what if gold is at an all time high? I hear from people struggling financially talk about their rather large "jewelry bills" and think - Has no one ever heard of a pawn shop?

Most are not a scam, people are buying gold bc the US dollar is falling. That is why you see all these commercials trying to buy your gold as well.

There was a company that advertised on television a couple of years ago, that promised to safely store your gold/jewelry, if you would just mail it to them. They would even provide the envelopes for you. The catch, was that they did not actually store them, they just sold all your gold/jewelry. Great scam!

I sold some old gold and silver that I didn't think was worth that much about 6 weeks ago. I was hoping for around 125-150 and I got 290 for it. 1 piece of gold, 2 silver bracelets, and a silver necklace.

This is on the "related" links at the end of the OP's video. Poor women got scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. All I can think of is, "wish I would've thought of it first."

much as I love the consumer, I don't see how gold for cash is a scam in any way. They offer you a price, you can refuse it. It'd be one thing if they kept your gold no matter what, but if you want a proper price on it, go and do your own research, otherwise take their crap.

I went through one of these companies (cash for gold i think) to sell my old 12k gold high school ring, with a nice ruby in the middle. They offered me some crazy low amount like $60, that amount means so little to me I just took it back and let it sit on my shelf.
