Sensabaugh is expecting a contract that is greater than his worth...I don't like his attitude going into free agency. Obviously, all players want to get paid as much as possible...but using some tact during the process would be nice. Downright saying that you expect big bucks is off putting.

    I don't want him.

By the way, for anyone who didn't hear, John McClain was on 610 this morning and tried to throw cold water on all the Asomugha talk, saying the Texans were right at the proposed $120 million cap and probably wouldn't be able to restructure enough contracts to make a major offer to anyone.

Personally, I think it's complete BS as far as them not being able - the Texans can make the necessary cuts if they'd like. But in the past, the team has filtered information to McClain, which he then puts a positive spin on and allows fans to brace for disappointment. Hope this isn't another one of those times, but I'll have to see to believe.

If anything, I respect him more for it. As always, it's about the money. At least Sensabaugh is willing to be honest and say it.

I expect them to pass on any big FA, citing cap issues and then overpay for Sensabaugh and Josh Wilson from Baltimore.

No, he isn't honest because he is completely overvaluing himself. Itd be one thing if he was a stud...but he's average.

I have no problem him saying that, if he continues to put forth full effort after he gets his payday and not mail it in.

I agree with this. I thought the same thing when I saw on NFL Network a few weeks ago that we were going to pursue Aso. This is just marketing strategy aimed at the disgruntled fanbase.

I get that same feeling every time I hear him talk about the Texans.

McClain is such a Texans shill. He used to be a good football writer but he should have just retired after the Oilers left. Or followed them to Tennessee (which is probably what he really wanted to do).

I'm glad I read this thread.

I went from super excited and almost believing the front office has changed to a dose of reality. I have brought myself back down to earth and embracing for the ugly truth.

I will be ecstatic if we are all wrong and the Texans bring in Aso, make a real push for Weddle, and Im in the boat for Plax too....

FYI, season tickets will be shipped out on Friday

Funny thing about the lockout was without the reality of free agency I let myself start believing this team was going to be a big spender for big time free agents. Now with the lockout approaching its end, reality sets in for me and I already feel back to that place where it is hard to even be disappointed that they won't do anything.

The lockout let me hide my cynical apathy.

It's hard for the texans to be big spenders when it turns out the texans won't have a lot of room to work with.

The Aso deal was always unlikely, imo. It was fun to talk about because we got nothing else during this lockout.

I know. They have no room to sign FA because of all those big ticket superstars the team is littered with!

I think you are too caught up in the threat to hold it up. In a nine billion dollar per year deal, the owners wouldn't let a few tens of millions break the deal. They'll give him what he wants to settle the suit. Reggie White did the same thing in '93 and it didn't slow things up one day, and he was never franchised again.

The plantifs in the suit have leverage. As long as they don't overplay it, they'll get what they want.

If Atogwe signed for 25M/5 years, GS better be had for under 3. If he demands more, then I think there'd be a lot more value at a little bit more $$$ found in Weddle.

    Texans 2011-12 motto:

"We got our built in excuses ready to go!"

Only in Houston would the local media get out ahead and start a full court press of apologies for not doing anything in FA. McClain is telling anyone who will listen we wont do anything and its not their fault. That's just freaking great.
