I hate that I live next to a signal on a one way road. Idiots in Austin don't realize that you can still make the left turn on a red light because ITS A ONE WAY ROAD!!!! when you add to the fact that the light stays red so long, well you have one angry drapg! I've been so tempted to get out of my car and tell the people causing the holdup to review their DMV manual from driver's education!
I can't stand idiots that pass you on the shoulder! That and people that want to race me just because I have a mustang gt. IDIOTS!
HESITATION Example 1: when someone is a parklot trying to enter traffic . .. I am 100 yards away they at a dead stop . . . but at 10 feet they decide to bolt out in front of me than go 20~30 miles below the speed limit Example 2: The person SWANGIN and BANGIN between two lanes. . . so I can't go around him because they don't know if they wann be in the left or the right lane or hesitating . . .because they see a car 1000 ft in their rear view People who go into the Left lane ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE ON THE EXIT RAMP THEN TRY TO BO-GAURD THEIR WAY BACK INTO THE EXIT LANE CLOGGIN UP 2 LANES INSTEAD OF WAITING THEIR TURN . . . . WHO THE HELL ARE YOU THAT WHERE YOU GOING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT WHERE EVERYONE ELSE ,THAT WAITED THEIR TURN, IS GOING? WHAT MAKES YOU SO FRICKIN SPECIAL!!! Rocket River
Well, most of mine have been mentioned, but I'll add another one. In driving long distances, I'll always throw the 'ole cruise control on. So, I have it set at, let's say 73. This dude speeds past me, that's cool, but then he gets over into my lane and slows down to 70. So, I end up having to pass him because he's going slower now. Inevitably, about 3 minutes after passing them, they speed past me again, get in my lane again, and slow down to 70 again. It's like they have some macho issue with getting passed. I hate that.
Living in Boston, I hate it when people in rotaries yield the right of way to people entering rotaries. This messes up the entire traffic pattern.
You hit one of my buttons with this one. UGH. USE CRUISE DAMN IT! IT'S THERE FOR A REASON! I travel to and fro to Austin on business regularly, and inevitably, this happens a half dozen times or so on the way.
A bit different but still irritating- what pisses me off while driving is when some r****d wants to cross the middle of a street (walking) like no cars exist. Cars zooming all around and one jackass thinks there is a special imaginary crosswalk through the middle of Main St and cars are just supposed to stop in the center of the road and let him cross wherever he feels like it. And then the moron just strolls across the street instead of running. Also I have no patience for tools who like to lay on the horn. For me, if someone honks for whatever reason I will do the exact opposite of what they are trying to get me to. Not going fast enough for you, honk and you will really see slow. Usually its just some impatient prick.
That happened to me all the time when I owned my Mustang GT too. Someone always wants to pull up beside you and rev that engine. The funniest instance was a guy in a Pontiac Sunbird. He revved, and revved...I laughed and proceeded at a normal pace while he squealed his tires for about a nano-second and pulled away. So then I come up to him again, this time about we are both on the fly. He downshifts and looks over at me as if to say, "Let's go." Everyone with a little 4 cylinder has something to prove. Funny.
With out a doubt, the thing that pi$$es me off the most is when there is a) a long line of cars in the left lane waiting to turn left, or b) the right line is closed ahead, and there is along line of cars in the left hand lane, and morons keep driving up the right hand lane and push in at the front. It drives me freaking insane.
Pet peeves include: People who speed through residential areas. One day, I'm going to put a manequin on a tricycle and roll it into the street when I see some ass clown driving 50 by my house. People talking on their cell phones on the freeway or in heavy traffic. Multi-tasking is not an admirable ability when it compromises my safety. People who drive below the speed limit when there's no or light traffic. Actually, pretty much every driver except me ticks me off.
Stopping on the freeway entrance ramp. I had a Chevette in the early 80s and that meant I had to find an opening about 1/2 mile wide because that's how long it took to get the car up to 55. I've got better cars now, but it's still a top pet peeve of mine.
Exactly. I drive a lot in Houston and people do this all the time. I don't know if they are just extremely inconsiderate or not paying attention to what they are doing. Probably both. I also notice a lot of people that speed up when you try to pass them, or they actually move over to let you pass then they speed up. Is it really so hard to drive one speed on the freeway? But then some people don't have cruise control so I could imagine it being hard to maintain one speed throughout the course of a trip...or sometimes the CC isn't very responsive so when they go over a hill the car deselerates a good 5-8 mph before it kicks in...then it goes over 5 mph of the set speed before the acceleration kicks off. 10-20 mph fluxuation will piss off anyone...including me
Most of mine have been mentioned too, especially not merging onto the Interstate at a fast speed (hello dumbass, you are going to get me AND you killed by going onto the Interstate at 40 mph!) and people going below the speed limit in the left lane. However, another one that I absolutely cannot stand: You are at a stop sign and behind someone. That person will not budge unless it is COMPLETELY clear both ways! How about growing a nutsack, jabroni, and go when someone is like 100 yards away, mmmkay??
the worst example of this is on the extremely short onramps on I-35's bottom ramp just north of downtown. idiots stop until traffic is clear to get on and merge... this stupidity always astounds me!
Manny...another one that bothers me that relates to your stop sign one. When you're coming upon a four-way stop sign, and you can see another car already stopped at a different sign than your's from like 500 yards away...and they ****ing wait until you come to a complete stop before they go. All of this stuff is really so trivial, but it's still very annoying. Like those idiots who make simple turns in neutral.
im now in front of you and closer to my destination...that's what i gained from that. and just becasue i go twice the speed limit doesnt make me unsafe. just faster.
well said. i agree. i'm a frequent speeder, but i'm not unsafe. i'm probably safer than most of the others out there, b/c i take extra precaution with my speed. everyone who rides with my trusts my driving skills, even with the excess speeding, because they know i'm very safe. i'm not one of those people who like to race or anything like that, i just want to get to where i'm going faster than others.
