These two have a lot in common by making their city/country feel proud while recovering from a natural disaster. The New Orleans Saints winning the Super Bowl four years after Hurricane Katrina and Japan winning the Women's World Cup four months after the earthquake/tsunami. Discuss.

I would say the the '09 Saints since a Super Bowl is much more important than women's soccer, which nobody really cares about.

globally I would easily say womens soccer it happened just 4 months (not four years) and the world cup is a unique global event while the superbowl is just for the nfl and the US.

most people here would say the saints since they can relate to it more

Japan. Especially since they had failed so many times to win the world cup.....let alone even beat team USA.

Doesn't this relate more to our fairy tale story when The U.S beat Russia in the 80 Winter Olympics?? The Miracle on Ice game is what comes to mind when I saw the women's world cup...

Just wanna add that I thought when the Patriots won after 911 was pretty symbolic. That was way back then when I was rooting for them.

Japan, they were playing for their country and they were not even given a chance to get to the quarterfinals and they won it. It is amazing and I love these women will themselves to a victory!

It seemed despite the media trying to paint the Saints as the new cowboys, america's team, most people were rooting against them. My perception from friends, family and the internet appeared to be that way. I could be wrong though.

After decades of being the symbol of futility
    The AINTS became SAINTS
