    The Heat would be brutal to play with Battier on their team. His lack of athleticism won't matter. Not sure if you can rely on that 3 though.

    Plus Shane would solve the problem the Heat had closing out games.

    i would be going after the ex rockets role players too. if they had battier, hayes, ab, and landry then that would solve any of their problems afa closing games and holding opponents.

    I'm confused as to why this is its own thread as:

    1. This is not news. This is Steve Kerr saying "he would be the best fit". Well duh of course he would be a good fit. Everyone who knows anything about basketball knows he would be a good fit.

    2. The Heat cannot say anything about any of the players right now, so no one knows what they actually want to do.

    3. No one has any clue as to how the CBA will turn out to impact FA signings.

    4. There are numerous Shane Battier threads if you just take the time to look.

    It would make me cry to see Battier play with the Heat. Ditto for Hayes, AB, or Landry. The good guys are not supposed to go over to the Dark Side.

    Probably more than you think. Wade/LeBron/Battier all can play multiple positions. Between the three of them, all the positions except center could be covered in certain matchups.

    Dwade and Lebron basically played 2 whole seasons last year. Batman would give them time to breathe. I hope Heat can sign him for 3-4 year deal and lock him up. Battier deserves to be on a contender, and he'd be a better fit on the Heat than a 1 superstar team like Chicago.
