cat is averaging 25PPG. if you trade him for a point guard who will average 8asts (all to steve) and only 12 points our offence will look a lot worse, about 13PPG worse.

what we need is a defencive minded, playmaker coming off the bench. somone like aaron mackie, or brevin night.

I say: Move Francis to SG. Put Mobley on the bench for our sixth man. Somehow trade for a point guard who only know how to pass.

We don't have a starting PG. Neither one acts that way... nor do they need to. We will have plenty of "O" when MT, KT, Rice, Boki, TMo get back and Yao Ming gets up to speed.

Move Mobley to B/U 2 and get aN NBA point guard who pasees 1st and plays defense. Pick one you like there are a lot of them out there. Then we have instant offense off the bench and injury protection without having to depend on Norris to lose 95% of the games for us. Moochie is what is killing us and if Steve or Cat go down then we're toast. We cannot win with 3 defensively challenged gunners on the floor at the same time. Yes we will get better as we heal. Yes the team will be more fun to watch as they grow together. Yao and Boki and Eddie will get very good. But Moochie is a big minus for this team especially in a 3 guard offense. We are unfortunately stuck with Norris and his contract. He can sit on the bench though. He would not be the first of the teams mistakes and he won't be the last.

All I ask is if you are going to say, "Blah, blah, blah trade for a PG," at least give some names. Maybe if you guys took the time to think it through, you would see that there is nobody else and Steve is the damn point guard of this team.

Keep Francis at PG and Trade Mobley. Find another SG in which dominating the ball is not a priority to him. I would even be content with starting Hawkins there.

keep him at the point. Kidd and Stockton are the only pg's left that are old school.

I voted for keeping him at PG.

So, even with all my "Francis bashing," I still never want to trade him
    nor move him to SG.

Trading him or moving him to SG will NOT solve the problem.
And the problem is: What's in his BRAIN! Knowledge.

If you recall, you can't detach your head from you body, right?
It goes with you. It follows you around.

The problem is in Francis'es head.
Or, rather, what he "knows what to do, and how and when to do it."

Moving him or trading him wont solve a thing...
If you don't solve this problem it will just following him around.

Steve is fine where he is at now. He has been playing awesome lately. He is scoring, distributing the ball, and getting a ton of rebounds.

Steve's problem is he has not played that much organized ball, not enough to know all the intricacies of being a top NBA pg. He didn't start playing ball in high school until his late jr or sr year. Then he sat out a year after that, before ending up at San Jac JC, over in Pasadena. After one good year there he headed to Maryland; he didn't really play there long enough to learn anything about being a pg. That's why he game is so in between. Guys like Gary Payton and Kidd, those guys been playing pg since middle school, in the same areas of the East Bay near Oakland, I might add. By now, playing the pg position is 2nd nature to them.

Ultimately it is Rudy's job to develop some chemistry within this team.

I had to vote for other, just to early for any major changes of course. But I always thought Steve was a 2 he just seems a natural fit. We'll see...
