So I have been using the "new" Facebook Messages ever since it came out (where chat and mail are basically merged into one product). I've been talking to this buddy of mine and just talking usual crap, about girls, etc. But when I go into Messages, it shows not only his name, but also the name of this girl I have been seeing. Like... John Doe, Jane Smith...as if it was a group conversation (which it obviously isn't). Now...this wouldn't be so bad, had we not made fun of this girl a little bit in our conversation as well. Now I'm wondering...just because her name also shows up in Facebook Messages as a participant in the "conversation", does that mean she always gets the whole conversation when she logs in? If yes, I'm in TROUBLE. Do I need to be worried? Mind you, I think it has been like this forever (long before Facebook made this new Skype announcement), but I never paid attention to it...she never mentioned anything either. Does Facebook even have Group Chat?
Facebook has group chat. But you actually have to click "add friends to chat" in order to start it. So, I think you're in the clear. Unless you're mentioning the girl by first and last name. Or accidentally tagging her, or something to that extent.
I know what fixes this problem. Don't make fun of people in conversations that are recorded or typed.
True, it fixes the problem for future conversations, but unfortunately, it does not fix the actual problem at hand . In fact, I made fun of her making the duck face in one of her pictures (hence, the other thread). I guess I should maybe not have made the sexually charged remarks to my buddy about what might have caused her making that face in that particular moment.
Thanks (can't rep you again yet) - I think I probably copied some things she said into the chat with him (which might have included her first and last name, and I suspect that might have triggered the bug (?)). Never actively added her to the chat and in the little chat window at the right bottom part of the page, only his name shows up, not hers. Only when I go to "Messages", her name also shows up, strangely.
