Can the Rockets talk to/about Yao now with getting fined ONE MILLION DOLLARS?

I'm still humorless about Yao's situation (he wouldn't approve), but I did think of how he went about this "notification".

Did he think, I'll call Daryl? No, that could involve a suspension for him. Did he call Les and say "Mr. Alexander I think this will cost you a million dollars but...".

What I hope Yao did was call Stern and say "You're going to have a bad day, I'm retiring and I think you should fine yourself 10 million for taking my call, but please send my love to the Rockets organization and please let me know when I can talk to them according to the rules."

I wish Yao would roll with this (I know he won't) but he could be... pretty big in this labor discussion with very few quotes.
