So there's a lockout... would you watch a 2k12 digital league?

    So there's no NBA for you to tune into. You can't get the Turkish league as an option with your basic cable to see what Deron is up to. And you really need a fix of new NBA level content.

    Imagine an entire digital league simulated through 2k12 and then broadcast somewhere (justin.tv or the like) in real time on the normally scheduled dates of a regular season. So on Thursday you could tune into Rockets vs. Thunder and then a double header on Friday. Action would even break for commercials, timeouts and halftime shows.

    If the realism isn't enough, add some amateur live commentary to make it more believable (I know 2k11 already has commentary and halftime shows, but it doesn't have enough variety to keep it realistic). The actual plays, animations and highlight moves should actually be varied enough to keep people engaged.

    Would you actually watch and would it become a topic of discussion amongst diehard basketball fans?

    Eh, it kinda depends. I'm going to have to see some footage before making a decision, theres so many ways how this can turn out good or bad.

    No because at the end of the day it is a game. Might as well just play 2k12.

    I damn sure wouldn't pay for the league pass to watch some digital basketball.

    if its digital, can they remove the increasingly stupid soft rules they keep enforcing, or does it need to be "genuine"

    uh, no, I wouldn't watch. what's the point? that's like asking if tennis fans during a tennis lockout would want watch a game of pong.

    I would pay for the league pass to watch it, if every player was controlling their own player in the digital league.

    Which does mean benchwarmers will have a controller in their hand and never get to play it.

    And coaches will have a controller in their hand waiting to press timeout.
